Ho did I miss this? Just from my 20 seconds of listening to the splash page, these sound really good. I'm such a sucker for this stuff. I'll probably get suckered. www.toontrack.com/product/alt-rock-ezx/

Here are some questions to help you not get suckered and get that triad orbit stand instead 😊Cool vid by the way!
Do you need this? Is the interface / GUI easy for you toner along with? Demo? Can you replicate the sound with what you already have? Can you replicate the workflow with what you already own? Do you need another drum sample library? Are there other upgrades or updates that you need? What attracts you to the product ? Can you find the same attraction to what you already own?

I have Toontrack Superior Drummer. EZ Drummer has some features that SD is lacking. The best being that you can create a simple drum beat, and it will find all similar patterns, in order of closeness to the original. That's the fastest way to sort through patterns I've ever seen. In SD 2.0, it's a hunt and pecking game that tires quickly. That feature alone is worth the price of entry.

This doesn't really seem like the sort of thing Albini would do. What's next, the Fugazi/Dischord sample pack?

The Scheps Really Really Loud Kit? Two ways to look at this - either Albini sold out (lost his millions at world poker or summat) or Toontrack is a really credible company, and people want to be involved.

Albini did a sample kit for BFD1. Not new. I came into the first version complete with a handful of expansions....after playing through them, his is the one I used. Once v2 came out with the Air Studios kits, use was over. Anyway-chiming in for historical perspective. Not sure why doing lucrative audio engineering jobs is "selling out" for an audio engineer, but....

Air Studios Kit for BFD?

I've got BFD 3...bought it when there was a massive sale. But I never use it. I need to go in and build my own kit, I think. Just browsing through presets has been disappointing. Well - the realism is amazing - but I kind've wish it were less time consuming.
I actually wonder if EZ Drummer 2 isn't considered their flagship product now. Toontrack is definitely the easiest to work with IMO and the features in EZ2 are pretty fantastic.

Those drums do sound a little more real than some of the other sets I have. Obviously the room is more alive and they're tuned to sustain. Maybe next time they have a sale I'll grab it.
Toontracks is long overdue to update Superior Drummer2. EZ Drummer has that ability to search out beats for you, which would make my tracks better instantly. Sometimes I get so bored scrolling through twenty beats to find one. Hearing the closest beat to what I want, and then the next closest alternatives is brilliant.
I've written to them, and they said they don't discuss future updates. I think it's a drag that I'd have to buy EZ Drummer to get that feature when I already have Superior Drummer.

I will often just open EZ2 and program the drums, then drag that midi to a SD2 track...pretty simple...but yes, they should put that in there.

Think so...but are people gonna like the fake drums better with more bits?

I bought. Made a preset with much less ambience and bleed by pulling it up in SD2. Love the raw sounds. I could hear this being my main kit and then breaking it down to separate channels and effecting there.

I downloaded the demo to ezd2 a few minutes ago. Is there a way to seperate the individual tracks, or does that require sd2?

Sounds cool, I've bought a few different kits over the years and nearly always prefer the original pop / rock in a mix (sometime Nashville). I'll try listening to other kits in SD2, good tip, maybe get some use out of them. If you can't always find what you want midi wise these guys are good ( although ott sometimes!) www.oddgrooves.com/Don't know if they will show up in the EZ2 search thingummy tho ( got EZ1 so have to do it the hard way)

The original entire BFD2 collection was done at Air Studios, London. FWIW. It was the entire collection. Thus probably why they are labeling the "London Sessions" in BFD3, which I never upgraded to....
