Man, some other small company needs to develop an equally good product at similar prices who actually knows what the phuck they're doing. Guys waiting three months without a return email after paying, websites that leave you guessing what exactly it is you bought? I know someone who can do it.. but it takes time..

Getting closer to figuring it out (I think) from the website Single Channel Op Amps “SUPER BEAST” ADA4898-1 2nd order filter. DUAL UNIT Updated “GEARSLUTZ UNIT” $387.95 Two Optical, Two RCA Spdif, AES and USB inputs. RCA + XLR + PHONES Stereo Outputs LIMITED TIME SALE $343.95 Is this stereo??? Says single channel but then it says duel unit?  Cowboy, the super beast is a stereo unit using a single channel chip per audio channel. It's the one to go for. Plus if you ask they will put it in a rack mount case, the standard case is table top. |

He hasn't heard the Burl, though. I'm happy with what I've got...but jeesh, if I can save $1900, I'm all for it. I would imagine it will just be one of those things where it's not better or worse, just different.

No I haven't heard the Burl. The RM beat many other ADC's I really liked and are well respected. I'm sure the Burl is fantastic, but can it really be night and day "better"? Guessing it would just be different or marginally better, as a few of you already said.. I'd rather put my money in microphones. I feel that's where the greatest sonic gains are made. |

I'm honestly not hating on the burl, im sure it's great. but you have to make sure you're doing an apples to apples comparison, which comparing a RM to a burl is NOT, a more fair comparison would be the RM with missing links in chain(cost wise, still a little cheaper than the B2, even if you have the missing links built for you), the problem i have with the burl is it can't pull the "proprietary"(what ever that means???) bx1 tranny out of line, and i think it's a safe assumption that whatever it is? it ain gonna come close to a missing link, certainly not in parameter control, and probably not in sound, i'd love to shoot these combos out to find out for sure. I think Johnkenn and littlesicily will have the combos? to do this shootout in short time, that would be awesome if they did! |

I think I got one in a drawer somewhere from 1995. It worked great back then with SAW Plus 32 Then I moved up to an Echo Layla. I was really uptown. Still got that old card too. 20 bits of solid nastiness. |
