I've tried these a few times. They kick ass but have that aluminum woofer coloration like Amphions do and I don't like ring radiator tweeters. Soft domes sound more right.

OK...going back and forth after Sonarworks with both of them. The Amphions are more forgiving in the upper mids...and I hear more extended bottom with the sub...even though the BF's go really low. I get a punch with the sub that I miss with the BF's. The BF's might have a slightly better stereo image. But I'm maybe looking for differences. Listening to all the standard songs to compare...and listening to a mix I finished on the Footprints. I remember thinking in the car it was a little hot on the bottom/sub. And I completely hear that with the Amphions and sub...Not so much with the BF's. Also I thought it might be a little hot in the upper mids in my car and I also hear things I'd do differently in the mids on the Amphions. When I switch back to the BF's, things sound better in both areas. So - that's a little weird - me saying the BF's are hot in the upper mids, you would think there would be less mids in the mix...huh...no idea.
So I dragged that mix into a PTs session to see the frequencies that I was hearing. I'm hearing sub 50Hz a lot better. I also was digging out a little 150Hz and could really hear tiny incremental moves making a big difference. Seems like the same for 2-4khz too. Think I'm gonna re-buy some Amphions lol.

Just to clarify, I really think the Amphions need a sub to complete them. Definitely not the case with the BF.

I'm so confused on what's in the running and what has the lead.

I can definitely tell my amp is wimpy compared to the 650W BFs.

I think te reason that you think you hear more mids in the BF is that it is a 3-way speaker, there is no fighting for frequenties in the woofer. Don't under estimate the influence of your room on the speakers. Did you measure the different speakers in your listening position?
I didn't want to use a subwoofer in my room, and the BF gave a completer sound stage. I also liked the One18, but not enough low-end in combination with my room.

How are the KRK subs? They make a bunch of similar looking ones. I have 2 of the 10s. There's quite a few people using them in Nashville, they seem to be one of the best options in the cheap range of subs. I plan to upgrade to something sealed when I can, either the Rythmik Servo subs or possibly the HSU Research subs. I tried a Focal Sub 6 for a few weeks and it was noticeably tighter and more defined than the KRK. The Focal cost a lot more, but it definitely proved to me that there is a difference from the cheaper stuff.

Yes - if by measures you mean measured with Sonarworks.

Yes, or with REW, Do you see the peak in the mids you hear?

Yes, or with REW, Do you see the peak in the mids you hear? Yeah - not looking at it right now, but I do remember seeing them peaking right in that area. But SW should compensate, but they still felt forward there to me.

Which frequencies? I will try to post the measurements, I made with the different speakers. I don't use compensate software.

They just cost almost as much as a pair of V8s.

I didn’t get to do the room setup - it’s pretty complicated...but from what I could tell they sounded great. $9k better than what I have? I have a hard time with that.

The D&D setup gets fairly easy once you get used to it, they could definitely have a better control method but luckily you don't have to do it often. Did you ever get to try the active ATC 20's?
