Monoprice makes a good case as well. I bought it on one of their sales and was surprised at the quality. I also bought an Amazon Basics case, and the Monoprice case was better. I had it side by side a Pelican, with little difference between the two. www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=10622

Thanks for the additional recommendations. I'm in Canada, so I'll have to check and see what can and can't be shipped here—lots of great options!

I ended up doing an Amazon Basics Medium hard camera case (https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01L0LVJ4S/) because of price vs. availability in Canada. It's a tight fit with the shock mount height, but overall a decent and acceptable case for the TG mic system. It more or less looks like every other hard, latched case, and will serve its purpose of protecting everything to move between studios.

When your vocal track slowly fades out during a session....
The red light on the mic is handy!
Thought I lost a tube in the pre or La2a... Client kicked the power button on the mic supply!

When your vocal track slowly fades out during a session.... Client kicked the power button on the mic supply! Doh, I thought about sticking something on there to make it more difficult to do by accident. This hasn't happened to me, but the thought did occur that something could click it off.

Sounded exceptional (for me) with whatever setting Adam had on it at last NAMM... When I again tested/sang through it. Most flexible quality LDC tone-wise (by a mile), certainly under $2K. Chris

I have one and love it. Awesome sound and flexibility. I've only used it on myself for backup vocals into the TG Cassette, but the results were great. Total value for the price.

Quite a chain for BGVs! Yes, I am not complaining. The TG Cassette takes some time to learn, IMO, but it's stellar as well.

I didn't think highly of it at first, but after a short time I got really used to it. Now I actually like the light when the tracking room is dim. It's easy to shut off if need be, but I never have. Sort of helpful when you need to adjust something or read a lyric sheet.

You can easily clip it out; it’s not in the audio path.

Just clip one leg of the LED and bend it out of the way. If you go to sell it just bend it back and solder it together.

The manual is on the TG Microphone product page of our website; a must read. As far as clipping the LED it’s not something in the manual, it’s just something you can do if it’s really bothering you.

Interested that you might think of selling it if you got the Redd; wouldn't it be kind of like owning an 87 and a 67. Cheers, Ross

Revivallllll. Surprised this mic isn’t being talked about more. As this thread proves, the mic is a hit or miss on some singers. Not a fan on acoustic guitars either. Close up anyway. Not a big fan on drum overheads. Positives? This thing wild on outside kick. Plug it in the line amp or just direct to the interface if it’s a hard hitter. I even put it back 6-8 feet off the kick drum on setting 5 and holy smokes the low end is absolutely amazing. Maybe I shouldn’t be talking about this lol Bass cabinets and guitar amps, great too. I prefer to use this mic at a little bit of distance on those. Actually in general that may be a key to this mic. Give it some space. Love this microphone

It was surprising amazing on acoustic guitar. Have to put it through a tube mic pre though, like a coil, so good!

I had a similar experience with this mic. I love love loved it on front of kit - it was a very cool one mic drum sound. But everything else - acoustic, vocals, OH - was not my favorite. There might be something to the backing off tip. The TG mic needs space. It’s usually a little further back than normal when I use it on vocals. The low end roll offs are also super useful and react a little differently in each of the EQ presets. I don’t filter out low end at mics very often, but there’s just SO much low end info with the TG that you definitely need to filter a lot of it out sometimes. I don’t think I’ve done close mic acoustic guitars in the last 2 years without the 50 hz filter active on it (I think that’s the first filter point, can’t remember off the top of my head). I’ve got some large GIK acoustic panels that I move around to build a vocal booth in one corner of the live room, the TG loves vocals on the booth backed off a bit. It’s got a lot of reach.

I ended up moving mine after a couple years. Best electric guitar mic ever and a great mono overhead. Didn’t love it on lead vocals and ended up with a Soyuz 017 tube and am very happy with that.
When I hear guitar tracks I did with the TG, it makes me want to get another. When I hear vocals, not so much. Still a fantastic mix for the $$.
My favourite vocal sound I’ve ever got with any chain (including very high-end vintage) is the 017–>REDD47 pre—> 1176 or RS124 (depends on the track).
