Is that you on the video? Is your new fickleness to give up on the Upton/Rhoads for this?
Love my REDD mic. Think I'm using it more than the U67 these days.

I keep telling you I know the greatest weight loss plan, I don’t recommend it but it works.

Nice one John
I'm thinking the dedicated PSU is more of the sound than I first thought

It's the same price as a Peluso 2247 SE... that is insane.

So, is it a must buy? I’m afraid it might be the case...

So, is it a must buy? I’m afraid it might be the case... Yeah I was expecting something with the three brand names on it that this one has to be about twice as expensive. If it's as good as it looks it's a "deal" I would say.

It’s different than the Upton. Not as colored...so this isn’t connected to me selling the Upton...and I’m fine if it doesn’t sell.

I am VERY interested in this mic. It looks like it could cover a lot of ground for different vocal ranges.
Where is the cardioid/omni switch though? On the PSU? I have yet to see a picture of the PSU, but I also don't see the pickup pattern switch anywhere on the mic itself.

I get the comparisons to the U47, but I'm curious how this might stack up against a U67?
If it can do U47 AND U67, I'm in.

Stick with it- lose enough and it will change your life (and lengthen it). I've lost 40, down from 212, and want to lose 20 more. At 5 ft 6, anything over 155 is considered overweight, so I have some work to do. Now that I have a new left hip (on December 5th), I'll be able to exercise- within reason. And it's a good thing, I feel like my lease on life has been renewed!

The University that I work at has a gym. Costs $5 per paycheck for a membership. Kind of a no-brainer. I take my lunch break and work out every day. At first it sucked. But after years of doing it, It's become routine. I think the mental health benefits outweigh the physical benefits for me. Those endorphins kick in and it's almost a high. I've been steady eddie at around 160 or so. I try and eat fairly healthy, mainly salads at lunch, no fast food. I try and limit myself on sweets and beer. Lately, I've been trying to cut down on sugar (it's in EVERYTHING). Switched to black coffee and plain oatmeal in the mornings. Boring as hell, though.
I turned 40 last month. I think about health a lot more now than I did in my 20's. Also, spending less on healthcare gives me more to spend on gear. Or at least that's my rationale.

Quint Guitar guitfiddler jampa stormymondays Here's the first of some sound samples... hit the HD button and switch to 1080p and please put some headphones on or studio mains. Pattern switches and pad are on the sides near the head basket.

I felt like the TG mic was louder than the other ones so it wasn't a fair comparison.
By the way I also own a Selmer Treble N Bass amp! Don't see to many of those around.

The levels are pretty matched save for an errant note; it’s just the consistent nature of the TG Mic is giving the impression of being louder in comparison, almost compressed. I think John picked described it best in the first impressions video, as far as the dynamics of it.

I don't understand why the settings stay the same on the TG each time it's being compared to the various other mics. Isn't the whole point of having those tone/eq controls on the TG so that you can, among other things, try to approximate the sound of those other mics?

My trouble is I preferred the sound of the vintage mics, for the most part.

No...it’s a mic that has the NAB/IEC Tape EQ settings found on the vintage EMI TG mastering console. It’s not attempting to sound like anything else. Btw - I didn’t get one or anything for filming that. It’s an honest first impression. And I was really impressed.
