I had the Behringer and a real Minimoog in the studio. Obviously, sitting next to each the Behringer looked like a toy, but sound wise it was 95% there. The real Moog just had that extra octave or whatever in the low end (like, 40Hz and below or whatever). But I thought the knobs and everything felt good on the Behringer and it definitely sounded good and I want one 😊

Got to see one of these in person the other day and it's pretty cool. It's decently built and sounds great, but it does look kinda trashy as far as aesthetics are concerned.

I would not use it live unless a tech gave it a stable housing.

With the current political situation vis-a-vis China, one wonders how long these prices are going to hold??

Why would someone buy a soft synth over an analogue synth of the same price??? It certainly is a space saver!

You guys seen the Yamaha Reface series. Pretty cool. Anyone own the YC reface? any good.... looking at B3 ish sound, and want it to be outside the DAW. Looks and sounds ok from what I have seen online... thinking about the CP version as well.... Anyone know about the Yamaha Line? are these sounds available in a bigger keyboard? Cheers Wiz

I have the YC. I love it! Works great with a larger board controlling it if you really want to dig in. The other organ sounds are fantastic and it's really fun to play.

Damn that really sounds great. Be really nice not to have to rely on a cpu hog VI.

Damn that really sounds great. Be really nice not to have to rely on a cpu hog VI. That’s what I was thinking. It can sit right in front of me and I will just record it live. Thinking about the CP version as well..basically organ and electric piano are all I use from keys

Yeah this whole series looks pretty righteous. I saw this the other day in another thread. Pretty damn impressive for not much coin.

I just wish they made these various Reface models in larger keybed sizes. They're kind of limited in range with only three octaves.
They do sound pretty good though.

Can you connect a larger key bed ? I'm not sure. I need to read the manual. I still am considering the electric piano model though. I was finally planning on picking up Keyscape, primarily for the electric piano sounds, but if you can get the Reface, essentially for the same price AND not have to screw around with computer stuff and latency, it might sway me. I just need to read more about it and maybe go try one out.

I don't think the Reface is quite on par with Keyscape for electric piano. Doesn't quite have the minute nuance stuff. But it (Reface) sounds awesome and probably better than anything I've heard that isn't Keyscape. And yeah, external device, no latency/CPU/buffer stuff to worry about. What a cool offering. And for live? Hell yeah. Amazing. That organ sounds a lot better than the Nords everyone plays (which totally get the job done already).

And for live? Hell yeah. Amazing. That organ sounds a lot better than the Nords everyone plays (which totally get the job done already). Even if Keyscape still sounds slightly better, there still is the appeal of not having to do computer shit. I also just got done reading the manual and you CAN in fact use a larger midi keyboard to control the Reface, essentially using the Reface as a sound module. I already have an Akai MPK261, so that would be easy to set up. That's pretty cool. So you could use a larger keyboard with the Reface in the studio and then just use the Reface by itself in a live scenario if you felt that you could get by with a smaller keybed in that setting. I just hate futzing around with the computer to get sounds. The Iridium and Two Notes stuff really kind of pushed me back towards using physical boxes to get sounds outside of the computer rather than worrying about latency and all of that stuff. Just twist a few knobs and go. The Reface has me interested.
