I guess the only way to get more than two channels of Burl is to go with the Mothership, right? I guess the rack is $2K, then you add a 4 channel AD for $1500 and an 8 channel DA for $1800? Thats a lot of scratch...
Anybody compared to the Symphony?

I don't know about the pricing but my friend Dave Cobb just jumped on the Burl stuff. He has been thru them all with the RADAR converters being the last ones before he heard the Burls. He is in Green Hills. He's the guy with the brown Helios :-) You guys need to meet.

I have a friend that got the full blown Requisite Audio treatment...The FM192, the tube power supply, the cables...the works...Maybe I can get him to come on and post about it...

The Burl stuff is all it's bragged up to be. I've got the B2 ADC that I SPIDF through an Apollo. That way I can use the UAD stuff on the front end. It's wicked good in this setup. But you know that I love the Symphony as well. The Burl is just a bit better.

I think they refer to his board as a 78. I have also been told that those module #'s (69, 78) came many years after those boards were built. I forget the story behind it.
Dave is a very bad influence on me. Last time I was down he ruined me with an RS124. I can't stop thinking about it! I want one bad but really don't need it at all!

Well, I will add that I did not get to spend a lot of time with it but I think it's a different beast than the STA. Amazing on a mono drum bus or room mic. It does that big squishy pillowy Beatles drum thing for sure. |

We were talking about it all week.
Awesome stuff!
Also had 4 Hinson modded RS124's
Still have 1 here.
Dave bought 2 of mine.
Different to Sta but still totally unique and super cool sounding.
Anyone want a mint original Compex just fully cal'd
My neighbors Got one .. Had it here for a few weeks..Sounds awesome.
It's like a brand new unit that sat in an audiophiles rack but never turned on.

I've had the Symphony,Avid and now Burl MS in here.
they're all really good but the Burl is a step above.
a little deeper bigger sounding,more analog like.
also for people who've only heard the Bomber ADC,do yourself a fav and try the DAC as well..also beats the Apogee and Avid.
using the MS feels like I'm not recording to digital anymore.
