Which monitors do you use?

i've been using the mackie hr824's for more than a decade, i'm currently building some knockoff proAc 100's, i've heard nothing but great things about them. I believe JK and littlesicily use them.

I like Klein+Hummel.
Still using a pair of O98. Extremely flat and 'true'/honest. Good things sound good. bad things sound worse...great.
Also, i use a pair of Cabasse Goelette powered with Adcom amp. Very nice and fine in the mids, quite flat and great stereo image.
And as PC-Speaker i have a pair of Tascam VL-X5 that were extraordinary value for what i paid for them new. They got better and better over half a year. Not bad as small budget studio monitors, too.

All depends on the room, your budget, and what you expect them to be....
If i would be forced to buy a pair, it would be probably the KH O120/Neumann.
If i had more money - the O-310 or its predecessor O300.(active of course).
I i had much more to spend - Geithain RL series, depending on room size, but not the smallest ones...
After that - well after that it is esoterics. I would ask my brother.
But that will never happen, until i win a big deal in a lottery....

Also use KH120s. Completely agree with lolo. Mixes translate beautifully and they're ugly enough to reveal everything. I like to think of them as NS10s with some actual bass and no ear fatigue. Also, I track with a 20-odd year old set of Tannoy System 12 DMTs. Also have a set of KRK V8s - cause they're pretty sounding, for occasional playbacks of final mixes.

Well, I threw a curveball and grabbed a pair of PMC TB1's. I'll update with some thoughts when they show up and I put them through their paces.

Brought a huge stack of CDs with very specific things on each to listen for...mind you, I only listened to sub $2k a pair monitors...but, nothing else passed all the tests. Including the bigger 824s. I found out later that the 6's were a newer crossover and tweeter design...so, I have no idea how all that factors into the "mk2" of each. Like did they update the 8 tweeters? I've heard some really bad things about the mk2s...but, I've heard really good things about some monitors I wouldn't be caught dead mixing on, so YMMV.

Benchmark DAC1 feeding 624s. The biggest deal was there was no learning curve. For years I'd have multiple monitors...smallish...largish...check it in the car...check it on the stereo...now, don't bother. If it sounds good on the Mackies it will sound downright killer elsewhere.

The twins and a sub are good combo.

How would the Sub6 work with my Solo's, would I use it for tracking only ?

Adam S2X + Sub10 in a well treated room. To me they have a good balance between analytical/revealing and inspirational. You have to struggle some to get a mix to sound good, and I'm rarely dissapointed when I listen to my mixes on other systems, quite the contrary.

I'm Mr cheap skate with the KRK's, they work for me!

Using Adam AX7X, had HS 50,s, sold them for the Adams. The midrange is excellent, highs clean enough, lows, a little mushy. If picking a "low end" monitor, I'd get the Focal Solo 6, which are still way over my price range, but I found they resembled the balance of the truly high end monitors I don't even think about owning.
