You don't need the vocals in the speakers and people tend to sing so much better with them that they don't need tuning. Headphones screw up phrasing and dynamics too.
But don't take my word for it, just try it and see!

I'd like to take the opportunity of my first post on this forum to say it is nice to be among those who suffer from the same affliction.....
We went from "I think I'm gonna go without" to purchasing a $2500 retro compressor in a heartbeat....
I love this place.....

Lol - welcome, kevinnyc. In my defense, it was an incredible buy :)I don't have to have it, but damn, it sounds good. I use to have a signature on some forum that said, "I retain the right to change opinion at any time and/or ability to afford said piece..."

" BTW, I've been testing out an Emotiva Stealth DC-1 DAC and it's freaking fantastic. $499. Honestly, I really think it might just sound better than the Symphony DA. Bigger/punchier bottom, smoother top and mids...I'm not sure which one is more true, though. I know this - my mixes have been lacking top end sheen and I've thought maybe it was my monitors (Focal Solos and now Pro Acs) or then I thought it might be the power amps...but I'm beginning to think the Symphony DA is a touch bright, so I've been pulling it out...Now - who knows - it could be my ears...Not about to sell the Symphony, but man - what a bargain this Emotiva is... " John Kenn thanks for the tip. After much consideration I just ordred a DC-1! I like the company values. Gonna give it a listen. Due to all the features it has, this will be replacing both Echo Audiofire, and SM Pro M Patch 2 monitor controller as my main digital listening source and source selector/volume control. This is my first higher end DAC I will have ever tried, I've got high hopes. I was even getting worn out on digital for a while recently, compared to my vinyl LP rig. There is definitely room for improvement on the digital end. Next up might be a good power amp.

Not sure how you got that from that post...but yes, I will sell if I get the right price. I bought it impulsively because it was a great deal...I've paid off a little less than half of it, and I have 5 more months to pay it off with billmelater...so, I can either sell it for a profit or find a way to pay it off in the next few months.
