Just got this in the mail yesterday and just had a chance to put it up. This is a Martin D-28 Authentic about 10 inches away pointed at the 12th fret. VP28 L into Svart AD. I'm gonna do a lot of different sound clips and I'll just add them as I go. LOVE the way this sounds. Meaty and punchy as hell.

Sounds very nice and natural. Should we do a group buy on this mic? I just bought an older "Englands" version of the RCA 44 and am waiting to put it through its paces. Hope it sounds as nice as the VL37.

Can anyone speak to the differences between a VL37 and VL37a?

man, that guitar really sounds great and the signal chain really captures how nice that guitar sounds. Will you be putting up clips of other sound sources as well?

hey Wiz, waiting f or it to arrive to put it through its paces. I thought the r84 was a bit too big and the sweet spot was very tight so its gone. I am looking forward to it .

Man, each time I hear a clip of the Samar I'm just so amazed. It always sound so beautiful and real. It's too bad I can't demo one over here in Europe.

I'm really blown away with this thing. It's balanced, smooth and rich. Top is natural and the bottom is punchy and euphonic, but not "hyped." Everything I've tried so far has that "in the room" sound. Just great. Gonna try it on an amp and some vocals and will post too.

Did you have a snare drum or something with the snares on while you played the trumpet? there's a weird buzz being picked up whenever you play. Does anyone else notice that?

I'll listen again. Don't really hear it. Could be a guitar that was in proximity - I thought about turning it around but didn't.
