Well, I did go through a Van Morrison stage writing with Anders Osborne - this is one of my favorites...Nobody gave a damn.

If an artist records that song in a proper studio and puts it on a record, there's no way it wouldn't be liked by listeners. It's a sucky business you're in, Brother.

Johnkenn, shut it you over-talented cork soaker. Haven't touched the trumpet in 20 years and you can still play that smoothly? You're making me sick. Took me 3 days of practice to just add t-bone shots on a record I had to do. just to make them passable. Some guys. Some guys are so talented, why, it's enough to make you sick.

Actually, my daughter started trumpet at the beginning of this school year, so I've picked it up a couple of times since she's had it. Kind've fun - I missed it.

Funny I tried to convince the kids Music teacher that rather than acoustic instruments they should go electronic so kids could practice through headphones and eliminate the parent discouragement during the first year of sonic torture!

Learn something new everyday at RGO. Gotta love it .. And for the rest of us kuntry bumpkins who don't speak parlay voo fransay:
Embouchure: The embouchure is the use of facial muscles and the shaping of the lips to the mouthpiece of woodwind instruments or the mouthpiece of the brass instruments.
And here I was thinking it was a fancy way of saying you passed gas in the recording 😂

The other reason being band teachers try to get them to learn 'Heat of the moment' by Asia instead of 'Crazy in Love' by Beyonce. Keep it current, teach!!

Here in Nashville, the Country Music Association has given thousands of instruments to local band programs. Really great. My daughter's school has a massive band program. Just looking at the website, it looks like they give grants all across the country. www.cmaworld.com/initiatives/cma-foundation/

Did you have a snare drum or something with the snares on while you played the trumpet? there's a weird buzz being picked up whenever you play. Does anyone else notice that? Where the hell did old Chuck go?

Still experimenting with whether this is a good fit for my voice, but I love it so much on guitar and drums (and likely lots and lots of other sources) that I kept it. The VL37a has so much reach into the sound. Presents so much life and detail in this very pleasing way, with nothing sticking out.

Have you (or anyone else reading and able to comment) compared a VL37 with a cloud lifter to a VL37a?
