So you mean the i/o utility plug in logic, as you can set its levels going to the wa 2a: right ? Yes. Bryce mentioned that in his experience, many interfaces need to be cranked a bit to reach the threshold. I'm a left to right kind of guy, so the fact that the output knob is on the left can be confusing (even though I know it's an OUTPUT). I guess that's how the original is set up, but if I was designing this from scratch (with no references), I'm pretty sure I'd swap them.

makes sense to me as Ragan and I were playing with my wa 2a a while back but I was using Logic and I didn't drive the utility plug output so it never got nasty

I am really liking the WA-2a. The way it just smooths and contains the sound is just lovely. From gentle to really squashed it's just kind of, I do know, elegant and classic sounding.
Big ups to Warm for giving us this at this price.

I know some peeps go one and on about the extent to which Warm stuff replicates sonically the original but your phrase above "elegant and classic sounding", really resonates for me.
I really dig my wa76 but I found both the eqp-wa and the wa-2a have sonically what you describe ( classic elegance). For me, that is starting to be what I would call the Warm Audio sound, both derivative in the best sense of the word and sonically unique.
