The T4B is here but not the screwdrivers to get at the innards (KT2A). Wondering if I should swap out some tubes while I’m in there. Pretty sure I have some 12ax7s lying around that would probably be better than whats in there now. Cheers, Geoff i swapped some tubes and it was pretty subtle. I think the stock tubes are "Psvane" brand. I ended up with a new/reissue Mullard 12ax7 (v1) and a vintage GE 12BH7A (V4) in there. V3 and V5 are in the detector/side-chain so I did not mess with them. I also swapped the big output cap (10uF) for a JFX film cap. Barely fits.

Haven't seen one of these for sale since getting the chassis and two 0011 modules. Getting set to check this thing out!

Only had 12au7s on hand. The 12ax7s in my unit were branded Bugera. Is that a Behringer brand? Cheers, Geoff

I just bought a Boss WAZA Tube Amp Expander.
All I can say is WOW!! I should of bought on of these when they first came out.
The advertising slogan is "modernize your tube amp experience" and it's actually true!
Both my favourite amps (Tone King Imperial MK2 and Princeton 68) sound best dimed in somewhat and they get very loud! This unit allows me to get a beautiful tone at conversational levels for mic recording wearing headphones or direct to DAW using cab/speaker simulation for that Tim Pierce tracking through the control monitors thing (which I actually prefer)
The variable reactive load works brilliantly and the amps don't feel spongy or loaded down.
Once again, clever Roland - great tech.

Bought another Elektron Analog Four MK2 to replace the lemon I got sent first. Trying to locate a second one (edit : found it). Bought an Elektron Digitone 4op FM synth. Received my Stam 4000MK3 with both Neve & API mod two days ago & a spare tube set for the Stamchild mk2 I also received an email : two SA-2A+ are on their way !

Got a Gretsch G6128T Player's Edition guitar. I currently own three Gretsch guitars. All are keepers. I had a vintage version, but for me, the Player's Editions are a better fit. I sort of wish the fingerboard was ebony, but the rosewood is fine and the standard U neck shape is perfect.

Bass, many vocals, BD, SD from time to time a guitar solo. When I first got it I was still working on tape or RADAR, and a went through a phase of tracking with it on BD and then mixing with it on SD.

You’ll all laugh, but… I got a pair of the Apple AirPods Max over the ear headphones. I’m starting to get into Atmos more on headphones and got head tracking working in the Dolby Atmos Renderer with my Waves NX Tracker box. I found the Audiomovers Binaural plug-in that taps right into the Apple spatial audio renderer and noticed you could do head tracking with AirPods, might as well give the nicer ones a try as they’re all on sale now.
I’m really surprised, they sound great! They’re obviously not nearly as clinical as my Neumann headphones, but they’re a LOT more pleasant to listen to music on. The high end is open enough to give a good mix check, but not harsh at all. Low end is definitely there and nice, but not crazy or stupid like most of the Beats or other consumer crap. They’re a legit nice sounding pair of headphones. I’ve been pleasantly surprised and enjoying them!

A client brought some AirPod Max headphones into the studio recently to check mixes and I was pretty impressed! I liked that my mix sounded better on them than it did probably in "real life" haha Snagged a cheap Big Muff Tone Wicker and a GIK PIB that needs a little TLC, but pretty much every GIK panel or product seems to fall apart when moved...

I saw a Stupid Deal of the Day on a Tanglewood Crossroads dreadnought cut away for $99, and thought, I don't have an acoustic I'd take out on a boat.. Had it for a week or so, playable set up right out of the cardboard case, super fast, modern neck profile, nice tuner via the built-in electronics. Things have come a long way since my Stella.

Broke down and bought a Radial Key Largo so I can just keep the Rhodes, Wurlitzer and Mellotron hooked up and coming down a pair of lines instead having to use a bunch of DIs.

2x POM Pye are now paid for... More details mid September. Sweet! Mine does not play well with other rack gear…I have to keep it on the other side of the studio (I guess it’s inherent to the design, it’s talked about in the manual) but it’s a great sounding piece Louder Than Liftoff Silver Bullet MK II incoming…going to try it with the home rig to get some outboard flavor when I’m mixing
