Is this a new offering from 3U or that same M7 offering they’ve had for a few years now? On quick-glance, it’s the latter, but I really don’t know. I had never seen their M7 before, so assumed it was new. I didn't realize that it had been available for a few years.

A new pair of Beesneez BU67-269 mark 1 microphones arrived here yesterday. My decision to purchase was informed by this thread and Josh Seawell’s excellent review. First impression of the BU67 is very positive. I put it up beside my AEG U47 with the Dachman M7 capsule and did a quick demo. Here’s a SoundCloud playlist with both clips (separate takes) for comparison. Both demos include processing (UAD 167, UAD 660) and were recorded through my other new arrival, a Rupert Neve Designs 5211 two-channel mic pre. This is an amazing device, so amazing that I took advantage of a great price and also added an RND 5024. I’m all set on mic pres for now, thanks.

Picked up 5 more Community RS220 3-way trap boxes at auction, on a freight truck from Houston as we speak, which brings me up to 12 in inventory. I've got a 3 week show in the round coming up in July that we'll hang at least half of them for, plus a couple one off weekend shows I can now cover with the extra boxes. Some of the auction boxes may just turn out to be OEM parts donors, we'll see. Picked up some native plug-ins on sale today to toy with, Kiive Audio Tape Face and Xtressor for $30, Softube's Eden WT800 and Mutable Instruments Clouds for $57, plus the free Moog Cluster Flux from pluginboutique. Should keep me amused on the laptop at a conference next week.

Those RS-220 were nice boxes, excellent pattern control down to a point, the only real gripe was compared to larger horn loaded boxes you had to be picky about subs because you had to cross over a little higher. I was never a fan of community’s HF except in that box.

I use them with Peavey QW 118s, which are designed to work up to a 150Hz crossover point and are manageable 85 lb boxes I can fit under risers and such by myself. I need a one man load-in that can go from a single sub with two RS220s on crank stands to a sub stack and three RS220s per side depending on what I'm covering.

Are using the old RS220 processor or a digital drive box ? The one time I tried a DBX 220 with rs220’s wasn’t that impressive but both the Ashy Protea and BSS Omnidrive were an improvement.

Today, I’m mixing on an X32 using the filters/processing on the matrix outs. The grab and go rack has a miniDSP mounted in the rack as a dedicated box processor.

These are really cool. It's a preamp and eq in one module.if you like the Helios sound you'll like these too.similar vibe ..but different. Basically an accurate recreation of the Original Olympic studios custom (pre Helios) Germanium wrap around console input channels(Olympic Studio 1 1966). OG Olympic tech Jim Dowler makes them with NOS parts. He was around there 'Back in the day" and good Pals with Chief engineer Keith Grant. His Olympic and Helios console knowledge is extensive.I learned a lot about Helios from him. www.audiodigitaltechnology.comView AttachmentView AttachmentSold out. Love the H2 Audio units. Any idea how these compare? Or another great tool to have. the eq/curves are a bit different. germanium too.more colorful slightly more compressed sounding than my H2's. similar in that they can boost lots of mids without sounding harsh and ringy. tons of output gain on tap.

I'm jealous. Is it custom made? Yeah, legs are 2x4’s, box and front panels are probably 3/4” plywood. Pretty simple design, but man it’s killer. Feels super solid.

It is a very simple and solid design and definitely worth $100! At first I thought it was a heavy duty steal desk frame with a couple of racks mounted inside but when I zoomed in the 2x4 construction became obvious. Either way nice find! The nice thing about the 2x4 construction is you can easily copy and build more if you want.

AKG C422 incoming. Probably broken I have a C422 and a C426. They are complicated. If it's broken make sure you find someone who really works on AKG's. I highly recommend Michael Amon but he is in Austria.

I believe Richard Land has experience with these and is here in Nashville…that’s probably my first option (he’s a nice guy as well!) www.akgmicrepair.com/

As suspected the Korby KAT RED isn't working properly...but for $350 what do you expect? The tube is definitely microphonic so maybe that'll fix most of what ails it, but that's wishful thinking. Luckily the 6111's aren't expensive and it's on a socket, unlike the Neumann microphone that use this tube which are soldered to a PCB...but I couldn't find anywhere that sells "tested" 6111's so it's a bit of a crap shoot. If it's more than that...off to the tech.

I had one about 1973ish. Wow wow wow. Congrats to you! By the way, is it hard to make minor repairs of the tines? Back in the 70s I did not need to do that, but maybe that is knowledge is necessary now that these units are from decades ago.
