After looking for one for nearly a year, I found a Trek II UC-1A preamp, which allows guitars and other instruments to run through my Leslie 147. The thing sounds amazing. Yeah! Used to use one all the time to track guitars through a Leslie. So cool.

As I’ve maxed out my rack space and I need recall gear for one of my new mixing options I got a Bettermaker passive EQ and a McDSP APB for my sins. So I’ve 2 full Wes Titans 3 Bettermaker boxes and 8 channels of Apb through a Nicerizer. That’ll give me all the channels I need and with decent plugs and High end gear I can “set and forget” and it should be easy. Another option I invested in is all tube with 8 channels of Coil and a Fat Bustard amongst other things so that sounds great. Otherwise I’ve been buying capsules, tubes, head baskets and improving clones etc. to create an Army of 47’s. I also put a deposit down for a Heiserman so I’ll be enjoying the wait. On a different note I got a stereo set of Schoeps with Mk4’s. That should save a few tax dollars destroying what’s left of Britain. Very curious to hear your thoughts on the Heiserman next to some of your other 47s. Did you get both capsules? No I lean towards the brighter side. What am I missing? I love what I heard as a brand new 47.

Pair of passive Auratones for $100 to replace my Reftones, which I smoked working on my Auditronics console. Whoops!

I love what I heard as a brand new 47. I do wonder how much "same/different" type of tone is usually between the M7 style and 49 style capsules. My understanding now is that the Beesneez 47 capsule is between M7 style/K47 style. I think Ben S. tunes his capsules a little mellower, and David Bock's tendency was to make his designs a little fuller/darker. Chris P.S. Thanks again Paul for all your shoot outs. (Same for Vincent/et al here)

And a seller took my lowball offer on a 1963 Epiphone Bard 12 string. Hope it’s not a dud!

(Same for Vincent/et al here) The BN K7 has some magic stuff going on in the mids and zero sibilants. It’s really cool in the Flea 47’s I have. The OPR 47 cap is extremely close to a real K49 and has that top end clarity, I put them in a couple of Poctop Headbaskets. Everything else I’ve been using real K49’s and Thiersch M7’s. Yes I find the Bock 251 darker which is why I like it. It doesn’t have the sibilants that most better looking clones have. No worries, I hope to do some more shootouts next week with my Son.

I mentioned part of this journey before, but I changed out the trem on my MIJ strat, installing a steel block Gotoh. But the guitar had two Duncan stacked humbuckers in neck and bridge and just didn't sparkle and spank like a strat, even though the bridge and new strings made it much more lively. So I got a Lollar for the neck. But then the lone remaining Duncan was a pain to wire back up so I got a Fralin for the bridge because the price was too good to pass up. But then I was burnt out on soldering and grabbed an Obsidian wire harness because I figured the stock pots and switches were also not that great. I put the whole thing back together, set it up and intonated to the best of my abilities and finally fell in love with the guitar. But then I got so enamored with strat/crybaby soloing that I had to buy a Keeley Monterey to run it into. And then that was so great that I had to buy a little Mooer E-Lady to use in front of the fuzz on the Monterey. So, now I guess now I just have to record? (I cut a bunch of vocals yesterday, I seem to be delaying the gratification of actually recording this beauty.)

Local Hammond guru, Murph Wanca, had a refurbished unit that he was able to sell to me. Trek II has just started producing new units again, but are going to be filling back orders for quite some time.

Hey guys! Just got new speakers: a pair of MA Akustika's 8 inch passive speakers with two of their amps. 8 inch Volt woofers and Morel tweeters. They sound very very good, lol. Here's a pic:

Here's a pic: I’m very interested in these… Went to find their website and it’s still being built. Where can I find more info? I’m definitely in need of some passive speakers, but I want ultra-efficient (to push with a 10 watt amp), which seems to be extremely hard to find.

Web page says 2006, so I'm guessing their website is not being built but is outdated and dead: www.ma-akustika.com/paslaugos.htmlThere are email addresses for two individuals, but whether or not they are still valid...

I'm still buying things like yoga mats, pour over coffee gear, and so on. But my Katana and Crush 20 are coming today. Here's my code for NI Massive synthesizer for free if anyone doesn't have it, whoever grabs it first happy halloween!

I mean man, I'm listening to Alanis Morissette's "Ironic" right now and I'm almost crying, lol. It's just sooo beautiful and it's not even my favorite track nor I ever even listen to it! (Random Tidal suggestion). Okay, Natalie Imbruglia's "Torn" sounds also fantastic! You never know with music...
