I saw that, wondered which it was. Price looked low for any but the III. Yeah, I wouldn’t buy anything from that guy without an in person inspection…… Turns out it’s an Ecoplate II! Got it back to the studio and it all still surprisingly works. That longest decay times sound so good, glad to have a full sized one Damn, score!

Fender Telecaster Deluxe in Purple Sparkle. Traded an amp for it. Limited edition they made in 2018 (I think). Previous owner got a little wild with pick up changes so I ordered a Fender CuNiFe Wide Range pick up...and also some new saddles because someone stripped out the adjustments.

There are a few companies that make barrel style compensated saddles that work great for intonation. Callaham is one of them.

Hey , first post from a new french member. I've been reading the forum for a long time. I'm starting to buy mixing gear, I'm done buying synths and drum machines for now. My first 19rack mixing gears I just bought (before I've been only using plugins and Rack500) : Vcomp+ (Audioscape) / Meq-A (Audioscape) / SA-76D+ (Stam) >>>> These will be used mostly to record my voice (my mic is a Brauner Phantera, the mic pre is a CAPI FD312 WHR4) I also managed to get the D3A comp (Audioscape) from Reverb, this I will use for stereo duties, mostly to beef up synths and drums during mixing. I plan on buying lots of other gear as months go by and money comes in, SSL Fusion, Coil Audio preamps, etc etc etc etc etc... I'm awfully addicted to music gear and electronic music. Way better addiction than drugs if you ask me ! Thanks for sharing the knowledge and the good expert tips everybody ! xxxx Louis

Nice!! (I love the plugin - it's a fantastic reverb) Why did you buy the hardware version - is it so much nicer than the plugin? My latest gear acquisition was a new Yamaha DZR12/ Behringer X32 Compact PA system for my band complete with Sennheiser G4 wirless IEM system (no monitors to lug about) It's totally wiped my studio budget for a long while!! What do you track with the Essence? Vocals - bass?

What do you track with the Essence? Vocals - bass? From what I've read it contains a few algo's that don't exist in the plugs? Although I primarily bought it for live use and future proofing. It might look like I frantically search around spending lots but I only tend to do major upgrades once every decade or so. 2002 was the SSL 4K setup, 2013 was MOTU and mic time, 2022 is the year of hybrid mixing. This upgrade was like buying a house and realising you didn't have nowhere near enough furniture to fill it .. Maybe in 2032 I'll finally buy that dream desk just to push faders around and admire its LED beauty, for now productivity is key. I bought the matched pair of Buzz's for vox buss duties, tracking is covered by Shelford / 2A, API 3124 / API 529 and Stam T69's. Orders take ages to sort out at the moment, my last one wasn't finished for 4 months. When I get the Buzz's I'll post some notes..

After upgrading some hardware comps, went from the Audient bus compressor to a Wes Audio Dione and from a 76-KT to Stam SA-76D+, I hit a couple software sales currently running;
IK Syntronik 2 group buy ended up being MAX for $35 IK MODO DRUM SE 1.5 added the three new 1.5 kits to the original for $28 Lexicon LXP Native Reverb Bundle, $66 at Thomann

Tuning is important as I'm sure you know. My amp was recapped and? by Jim Williams to in theory get some noise down. fwiw, I also like to sometimes set the reverb time scale bar to around 4 to approximate the Prairie Sun Waits room thing. Of course not the same but, you can get into the room sound ballpark by lessening the decay a bit. Longer decays are obviously great too.

And now I know what's so unique about the Percolator - its circuit features an unusual NPN/PNP Darlington pair and generates lots of oh-so-musical 2nd, 4th and 6th harmonics, while avoiding the odd ones (those harsh ones that appear as soon as you start clipping), This looks like a new version of it? landdevices.com/products/hp-2?variant=40648537473186

No big buys lately but I did have a buddy install a Seth Lover PU into the bridge of my Gary Moore LP. Also picked up a nice stainless steel steamer pot at good will and went and bought a couple of lobsters as well.

No, by ear. There might be some out there but I never saw one.

Got a great deal on an old Nord Rack -- I've always wanted to know how the early units differed from the Nord Lead 2 and later or if there was a difference at all. This is the fourth Nord synth I've had including the NL2, a Nord Modular Rack, and a Nord Mod G2. Turns out, the OG seems to have more present, slightly saturated lows, and an overall more scruffy and less smooth character. I love that smoothness in the later models, but I got a great deal on this one and am honestly a little surprised at the different yet similar flavor it gives.
I also picked up some wireless CME WIDI devices and am hyped on how easy they are to setup and use. I will definitely be picking up more.

No pics on this post, but whew, I have to tell you all I have really fallen down a hole over the past few weeks. The hole is called "vintage camera lenses."
Think of camera lenses like you would microphones: each one is different, each one gives a bit different perspective. They have different reach (even if they're technically the same focal length), different sharpness, and they render color differently.
Over the past month or so I've built up:
A vintage C/Y Contax Zeiss kit consisting of: - 28mm f/2.8
- 35mm f/2.8
- 50mm f/1.4
A vintage Canon FD kit consisting of: - 28mm f/2
- 35mm f/2
- 50mm f/1.4
and I've got a Minolta Rokkor-X 50mm f/1.4 on the way.
The old manual focus, manual aperture lens market is pretty wild, and something I knew very little about six weeks ago. I have been schooled.
I had two shoots over the weekend, and unfortunately I didn't get to use any of the above lenses (well, a tiny bit of the Contax Zeiss 50mm f/1.4), but am really looking forward to more in the coming days.
Sorry for the side track away from music. I've been finding more and more similarities between audio engineering and videography lately, and the lens world is a big part of that.

Dude, awesome. I'm jealous. I haven't really delved into vintage photo/video gear much, but I do have an old Yashica T2 point-and-shoot with a Zeiss lens. Definitely a nifty little camera.
I want to see some footage with those lenses!

I gave in and got the Syntronik 2 bundle for $35. I like rolling my own presets from the raw oscillator samples (I think the presets are over processed), but I can definitely hear the improvement from the way the filter sounds/responds compared to my experience with the Syntronik 1 engine.
