I picked up another ADR Scamp rack…probably overpaid considering it’s condition but it had some great modules (ADT, Auto Panner, Compressor) so fingers crossed they work. From experience with them it’s not even worth trying to power them up before a recap…definitely had some “explosive” times with other modules. So, after I replace about 200 capacitors we’ll see if I have any success 😂

thats a great thread. I had some of the same issues. I have two power supplies that look identical but one weighs a lot more and seems to work better. Transformer perhaps? I have not opened it but will bring to my tech to check out.

Neve 542 Tape emulators.
All I can say is don't sleep on the RND Red silk. Thing does wonders to vocals.
Tape effect is really cool too for adding grit to instruments.

Finally ordered a pair of Link Audio SL4K-E01 preamps. They're going to assemble them with the pad as a proper line in module. So I'll be one step closer to my full SSL Channel Strips. They're not scheduled to ship till the end of 2022/beginning of 2023 though. Hopefully the Royal Blue Colour Modules will be back in stock by then and I'll be able to grab those for some Neve flavor when I use the preamps. www.linkaudiodesign.de/product-page/sl4k-e01

Picked up 10 of the Vicoustics Diffusers. <button disabled="" class="c-attachment-insert--linked o-btn--sm">Attachment Deleted</button> How do you like them? Not really able to fully test them yet because There is still a large 8ft high scaffold with a plywood platform acting as a partial live ceiling. The Room is live solid wood floors with 16ft dead ceiling. The room had a flutter free short reverb time, The wall diffusers scatter the sound and seem to shorten the room reverb time. with the Scaffold removal, and the addition of the inter thermal tube trap corners and wall half rounds I'll be able to test better. So far it's a great sounding tracking room. Just ordered 4 more to fill in spots in the diffused back wall of the control room.

Bought an Ecoplate III...picking it up Thursday. Hoping it works, buying from a broker I haven't had the best experience with. A plate reverb is one thing I’ve felt has really been missing from the studio. Hope to one day track down a larger Ecoplate I or II or maybe even a Lawson (EMT 140 is out of reach financially).

Just sold these two slightly different Percolators to a vegan chef, and was treated to a 4 course meal, free beer coffee and ice cream. Good deal for everyone involved. Guess there will be more of these soon, time timey time time, time-oh.

I saw that, wondered which it was. Price looked low for any but the III. Yeah, I wouldn’t buy anything from that guy without an in person inspection……

And now I know what's so unique about the Percolator - its circuit features an unusual NPN/PNP Darlington pair and generates lots of oh-so-musical 2nd, 4th and 6th harmonics, while avoiding the odd ones (those harsh ones that appear as soon as you start clipping),

RNDI. Mono. My LA610 is down for the count. I realized that was all I was using it for...bass DI...so, friend had an RNDI for sale...plug it into the Millenias...probably solved. I sort of want to go back and recut some bass tracks now. I've always preferred kind of "big phat tubey" DIs for bass...great on fader up--but then always fought to get them loud enough in the mix without being overwhelmingly phat...this is decidedly NOT big bottomed, BUT...I've never seen such a symmetrical waveform on bass. I can hear the bass notes speak clearly without being as "loud"...

Got it back to the studio and it all still surprisingly works. That longest decay times sound so good, glad to have a full sized one
