Well I can't kiss and tell because I will probably sell it again soon. I don't need more u87's. But , yes, a good deal and it is in very good condition. The capsule is clean and shows that it was well taken care of.

seawell Good god. Insanely jealous. It is a thing of beauty! I've been through so many compressors over the years and this is where I've happily ended up. I haven't found a vocal yet that it doesn't work on. It has all the tone I love about some of the others I tried but way more versatility and control.

Beautiful mic! Congrats. If you want to sell that unneeded, extra piece well taken care of junk to me for $1300 - $1500 USD shipped let me know Besides, we all know the nickel bodied U’s are more sought after & have higher resale b/c it’s clearly obvious the mic’s color makes it sound better I’d pick nickel if there was a choice & no price diff. W/ the batteries the mic can be used w/o phantom power. Many ppl including Fletcher & Klaus say the mic sounds better w/ the batteries instead of phantom. What do you think? Anyone else used the U87 w/ the batteries? The batteries are Eveready 505s, 22.5V x2. eBay has used for $15 after a quick search.

Finally got my Silver Bullet today, second hand, was hunting for awhile and got lucky to find one. Man.... this thing transforms the mix with a few buttons, the harmonic sheen/edge it gives is so pleasing in the A and N, and it tightens the mix in this great way.. Just awesome color. And then when I started messing with the HF filter the tightness EQ knob, jesus.... My mix completely transformed into sounding way more balanced and shaped it into such a pleasing familiar sound of the records that I've lusted after. My bottom end and top end was basically completely mixed and sounding 10x better all from these EQ buttons. It's so good it makes me mad I didn't have one sooner to do so much work for me with the press of a few buttons. Sorry to say it but screw ITB, I am never going back.. LOL!
Very excited to see the differences compound when I start reamping tracks and tracking through it in conjunction with its stereo buss functions..

There's no gear to be had!! Use to I could do a search on Reverb and find any number of things I was looking for. Now, nothing. Did Covid kill all the gear, too??

The Retro has all the Vari mu tone but is much faster than the others and can really control a vocal. It's the perfect vocal comp(for me)!
