I've got a bunch of humbuckers coming. Bill Lawrence USA L500XL, Dimarzio 36th Anniversary PAF neck, Gibson Burstbucker Pro bridge, and another Dimarzio PAF Pro.
They're going in 3 different guitars, in an attempt to find more permanent solutions to what's in them now. Really would like to get these guitars "settled."
Went way down the "research" rabbit hole, we'll see how they sound.

New bongos from Manito Percussion.
I don't know if there are any hand drum players on here, but if you are and you haven't checked out Manito, do yourself a favor. This is my third drum from him and each one is an absolute masterwork. If you are sick of the perpetual disappointment of today's MI conglomerate garbage drums, this is the cure.

Accidentally found a KMS84i on eBay. - which is a KM84i with a windscreen on top of it for handheld vocal use. That comes off, and there it is: A good as new KM84 for $700-odd!!
Bought and shipped about 15 minutes ago.

I've been keeping an eye out for a deal like that but missed that one. Nice find Ward! Good to know it can still happen once in a while.

We all knew it would happen eventually...... And it did...... Another HD16 interface for the HDX2 system. Bringing the grand total to 112 I/o on the hybrid mix system. Am I done? Eh....maybe.

But still.....

With my further excursions into field recording and location work, I picked up a Sound Devices MixPre-6 II a couple weeks ago, and have now given it a couple good workouts for one of my main use cases. This is in conjunction with the Zoom F6 that I already own. My plan is that one or the other of these units will kick the other to the curb so I can sell one of them.
Hard to say at this time: they both sound great - surprisingly so. The Kashmir pres on the Sound Devices are quite good, and the pres on the Zoom aren’t tooooooo far behind them. They are not expensive for what all you get. Still, they each have a couple killer features, and they each have a couple majorly maddening design choices. I’ll say it that way.
But I so appreciate how many features they include. And the SD has a touch screen, which makes it really nice to get around on.

I'll take the sound devices over the zoom stuff any day.

Let's see, my Zaor Maestro 36 desk showed up and got it put together. Ordered it in February so glad it finally showed up. Started redoing the studio space! Going to build another desk for normal day to day work and also ordered two new Redco patchbays as I needed more patch stuff for all the gear!
Really excited to get the home setup coming together. Will do some room treatment next.

Asking, because I really want to pick up that desk. yeah 2 things. 1) I ordered custom color, I wanted the Walnut finish as I like that color better than what they offer. So that meant it was going to take 8 week anyways. 2) yeah Covid stuff. Came from where ever they are made in Europe which I'm sure was shut down. Over all I really like it. Something I didn't realize is they are using server rails not standard rack rails. This means EVERY hole is the SAME size and spacing. It's still standard units like 1u 2u whatever. But if you want to offset it by 1/3u, done. Super easy. Went together really well too, was cool to see how it works to put together. And shipped great and secure. I got it just before they raised all their prices too so that's nice.

Stam 1073-500 preamp. The item does what it is suppose to do. A terrible buyer user experience from Stam. But yes the unit has a hefty physical weight to it. Its very quiet. I like what the Sowter Xformer does. carnhill input sounds clean. Really nice metal work on it not skimpy at all. The DI works great for Bass guitar. The gain knobs feels great. The unit at this point works like it should. Having used quite a few neve clones and this being in the camp of one of the better ones i will hold onto it but I will keep my eye out for another BAE unit.

This guy came in today. Different top plate but advertised as fully functional. Was the only affordable one I've seen in quite a while that didn't have something wrong with it. Also cheap enough that I can send it to Studio Electronics and still be under market. Hopefully, one of my favorite UA plugs gets retired. If it works well, I'll hunt down the full chipsets and upgrade it.

Went a grabbed a butcher block counter top from Home Depot to build a side desk for general useage.
And also grabbed a 40'' TV that was only $120 new at bestbuy. LED HD 1080, no smart functions. Just plain jane TV. Perfect for my new monitor behind the Zaor desk.
Now to sand and stain the desk.

Grabbed an ADL-1500 locally. Probably needs to be sent in for service...but then I think maybe I should have Jim Williams modify it instead
