If you did the $99, with the release of 12.3, you get previously only hd features, meters, vca, disc cache all bug fixes to 11 and 12 and you will get 12.3 actually new features : track freeze ect plus any other new features released in next 12 months: you southern gentleman are dumb:like foxes !

i think forfeit only means you cant sell it off. i have 10, 11, and 12. 12 has been solid for me and has the the upgrades ive always wanted. input monitoring, vca's, etc. so i have never once thought about going backwards. i think if you upgrade and dont continue your subscription you still keep 12 but you would have to pay full price to buy back in.... p.s. all the PT haters left out the biggest negative for PT that all the others have and has been promised for practically a decade. TRACK FREEZE!!! avid must have been following this thread.

It's not much different at all right now...seems more stable. But 12.3 looks really good.

Johnkenn you are running the cleaned up 12.2 so less bugs and you do have vca, disc cache etc and 12.3 is scheduled to drop next few weeks.

I had a buddy just text me that 12.3 force closes all the time when editing. He's moving back to 11.

I had a buddy just text me that 12.3 force closes all the time when editing. He's moving back to 11. Scary. I'm in the middle of a project and the transparent waveform function was tempting. I'll stick with 11 until 12.3's been thoroughly vetted. Looking forward to hearing about people's experiences here.

ah, I am still on 11. so I haven't been following it. I did ask if he was on 12.3 and he said yes. When will it be released? Maybe he should just do that instead of going backwards.

so, i watched their video about what's new in 12.3. Transparent view for dragging around waveforms is pretty useful but Commit Track? Here's an article from October 2009 showing Logic 9.0 introducing "Bounce Region in place". www.soundonsound.com/sos/oct09/articles/logic9.htm If you have used logic at all, you'll see that the ProTools commit track dialog box is nearly identical to the Bounce Region In Place dialog box. wow, took 'em 6 years to catch up smh

I was told that if you pay the $199, you get all the plugs they offer also. Can anyone confirm this?

Check on avid's site, the cost to get 12 and perpetual licenses for it and the plugs.
