For a jewak would you punch or drill out the hole ? depends, i'll try to find something to fit the exact size hole thats there, but i won't hesitate to drill a hole a little larger if i find a cool lamp thats a bit larger. Of course this would never even be a consideration on a valuable original anything.

For a jewak would you punch or drill out the hole ? Punch since the hole will have to be offset from the one that's there to avoid encroaching upon the switch. The front would be easier but IMO it's important to have the LED there to show voltage presence.

I bought Jewels for mine but when cat5 and I discussed it , it requires a much larger hole in the case than the led. Cat5' blue led looks great just not as large as a jewel.

made the 7 pin cord, ready to fire it up the first time and broke the tiny reed switch that puts the mic in omni! I order 3 more, the things are friggin tiny, and if you bump it, it's done. I can still get it going and test everything, i'll just be locked in Cardoid only.

Do report back!! The bigger question is - what the hell country is that coin from? It says "Oklahoma". I think that's in Thailand.

I can't wait to hear these things. I'd love to not have to wait for Thiersch (even though the juice is worth the squeeze).

I can't wait to hear these things. I'd love to not have to wait for Thiersch (even though the juice is worth the squeeze). Dany's been working on this for quite some time now...I even reached out to Dale Ulan and Sinsay for tips and such for the skinning/gluing process which I relayed to Dany...knowing how much of a perfectionist he is, I have confidence he will master this process as well...

Even dufus's have good friend's ! I got my 47 back from shane (cat5) last week, if you remember I built it, damaged my brand new cap , sent it back blah blah blah and Shane kindly offered to install it and check my build , you know cus its not like he has anything else to do anyway I was pumped, hooked everything up in my heavy dutiest stand , went over set my protools session to record something, stepped on the cord wrong ; 47 fell over , went boom on the floor and wasn't working, AHHHHH. Thanks to Shane and Tony C for talking me down , guiding and encouraging me to just settle the f___K down and to re-check all continuities, which we did , but mike still didn't work. So ,I rechecked everything again and even though tubes were lit and the mike was warm, we decided time to switch out the tubes. Bingo !! I honestly teared up when the friggin mike was working ! So, here's my 47 starting off right listening to the beatles on repeat to burn in those tubes. Shane, Tony can't thank you guys enough ! JK your next ,, ah but I don't recommend knocking over your mike first time, but hey go nutz !! Attachment Deletedsoundcloud.com/kcatthedog/promise-02-14-15-2

Just heard a quick vocal and guitar take for a couple of minutes of Kcatthedog with his brand spankin' new MK47. Here's some of what I replied:
"It’s completely pro, there isn’t the tiniest aspect that’s over or understated, I think it’s just perfect, congratulations!"

not to be melodramatic but remember when tony said this psu can kill you ? he wasn't joking, the number on the mid left of around 327 vdc is what comes into the pcb from toroid, this voltage flows through the drop resisters and ends up at 105vdc which is what drives the mike. People talk about that 47 sound and this is one of its interesting characteristic , the psu scrubbing off all that power there are two numbers (top and bottom), cus the psu design comes with a load test function that lets you/Tony test the system voltage without the mike attached so you don't fry it. I had about 5 vdc difference (between the dummy load and the actual mike being attached) and I was checking the electricity voltage flow and continuity all the way through the pcb in case something was faulty . my diagram is of the pcb, see pic , oh and here is a pic too of the groovy blue led Cat5 specc'd!
