pics of it all. Full report.

I'd like to know what kind of sandwiches the interns bring back for the talent.
Other than that, shots of the live room and any drums or amps that are miked would be great....

OK - about to post some pics...but this whole project I'm doing is a strange thing...Moving target anyone? Put it this way...we were writing the freaking songs tonight in the stuidio D lounge...don't ask...All that to say, that during the tracking, there will be a LOT of sweat expired and the idea of taking videos of what the engineer is doing probably ain't gonna happen...Although, I will try and post a few vids. I'm in there for the next two days, and I think the 17th might be the better to video...I'll try my best.
In the meantime, I'll post some pics.

Today was just writing in D...Tomorrow we're tracking, so I'll get some more pics with musicians too. I gotsta take some pics of the D Lounge and "Massenburg's" Studio C. Anyone have any specific esoteric/obscure equipment requests? Hey - why the hell not? OK, maybe not three M49's/251's on toms...but something to that effect... Check out the 670...I asked them to bring one in for scratch vocals

BTW - i certainly don't mean this as a "look at me" thread...I'm lucky to be in here...And I'm as excited as a little schoolgirl! I've been in here before and mixed a few things, but never tracked. Just want to share this really cool opportunity with the board!

I am lucky that my studio is so close to Blackbird. Less than a half mile away. I get to try out new gear from their rental place often. I have been fortunate to have played on a few records in D and a couple in the Massenberg room. I really like the main cutting floor in D but the Massenberg room doesn't do it for me. I think George tainted that room for me long ago.

It's a beautiful place and you guys are lucky just to be there, let alone work in it. Enjoy every single minute John. Reminds me of the 1980s, when I worked in places like that, well almost like that...

He has done great Earth Wind and Fire records and he has done records that I thought were poorly engineered. I think we all have.
