Don't buy Kimber on EBay ! It has been faked way to many times!

I'm trying to take a step up from the ground. I looked up "Tributaries speaker wire", but couldn't really find anything. Even this link that you posted above is showing AudioQuest wire. Is that that same stuff? This... www.abt.com/product/70296/Audioquest-X2GR30FT.htmlThe eBay links for Kimber are China based and I don't trust them. I've read that there are Kimber Cable counterfeits out there, so I'd rather get something from a trusted seller.

Jesse How long do you need? Go to the local HIgh end hifi shop, they probably have some short lengths the might deal on!

Probably a pair of 12 foot should do the trick. Am I better off moving the amp for a shorter run? I guess it would cost me less in cable, but I'd rather keep my amp racked off to the side.

Just get the largest gauge you can use and you should be OK. I still don't get the whole audiophile take on wire. They'll complain about capacitance, resistance and inductance of various audio cables, but nobody complains about the signal integrity of their broadband internet connection which operates at 10x-1000x the frequencies on pretty standard and cheap conductors. If their data connections can do it at 1GHz on cheap copper conductors, their 10Khz audio isn't going to have much of an issue.

Just go to Home Depot and grab 12awg solid core copper for $5-10, and apply gradual bends to and from ur destinations, solid out outperforms everything else right?

Martin, Jess collecting info, researching and informing himself IS stepping up his game, relying on voodoo and unsubstantiated claims is the fools errand IMO. U gave no info as to why something may be better, just more pricey alternatives, why?

All I've ever said is that I used to adamantly refuse to believe cable could make a difference until I tried a few brands. Not the emperor's new clothes $12,000 a foot kind, just something between $100 and $350. Tony, I was with you for decades, but when I heard some startling improvements just from changing from the best Radio Shack wire to a $120 pair of Tributaries speaker wires, I knew I didn't know all there was to know about these things. I don't mean to sound like I'm some kind of expert, and even the experts disagree.. There has been so much said and written about this by people far more qualified than me, I just have to accept what I've heard by testing some cables and wires. jcoutou, apologies if I put it the wrong way, I was trying to be funny and help, but I had a student arriving, so I posted in a rush earlier. There are a few brands that I know will make for an improvement in sound quality. The Audioquest wire is OK, but I think a little grainy. I prefer Acoustic Zen, Harmonic Technology or Analysis Plus much more. Here's a link to some good cables at very affordable prices: www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=tributaries+speaker+cable&_from=R40&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xanalysis+plus+speaker+cable&_nkw=analysis+plus+speaker+cable&_sacat=0You can spend between $130 and $500 there, and they're all very good, the Oval 9's are killer. Link to a typical review of a skeptic: www.stereophile.com/content/review-analysis-plus-solo-crystal-oval-8-speaker-cable-1Keep us posted.

Well, at least you'll be sure the speaker cables aren't the weak point in your system now. !

My Old Denist when I was a kid, he was such a audiophile, he almost Bought The Cello Co, from Mark Levinson, and when I was 18 I'm sitting in the chair and he asks me if He Should by Avalon Speakers. I'm like witch model, he says " No the Company" His dad was the guy in all the old Menards TV commercials and his cousin is "Greg" on CSI!

I was very lucky in a way when I was young, My father had died when I was 10 but a number of very interesting and influential people in both the recording / music side and the audiophile side took me under there wing. I learned a lot from both and set my own course.
