I think I might accidentally have figured it out. Normally, Native Effects only contains 8 plugins. But if you buy it now for $379, you get a free upgrade to Soundtoys 5 (when available) which includes all 12 of their plugins. Currently, if you wanted all their plugins you'd need to buy Native Effects plus the other plugins that aren't included in that bundle. At $379 it's a hell of a deal, I'm thinking about it myself! Anyone know if I can upgrade from a single Plug to the bundle via a dealer or if it's only direct through Soundtoys? Looks like the upgrade direct is $279, $100 less than the full purchase. The full bundle is $337 at JRR. I'm hoping to upgrade for $237 or so if possible. I think the answer is you can only order an upgrade directly through Soundtoys. Take a look here: support.soundtoys.com/customer/portal/articles/1776444-can-i-order-an-upgrade-through-a-dealer-

I think you only get V5 upgrade for the plug you buy now not for plugs you have already bought. here is an email i got from st today
"Our Black Friday promo may be close to the release of Soundtoys 5, but is not the actual release. As such we are still finalizing all upgrade policies which will be a part of the new release program.
In the interim, new purchases will be eligible for an equivalent upgrade in version 5 (i.e., buying a V4 Native Bundle will get you an upgrade to the Soundtoys 5 Bundle, purchasing EchoBoy V4 will be eligible for an upgrade to EchoBoy V5).
Soundtoys 5 allows you to utilize the plug-ins either individually or in the new EffectRack to create chains of Soundtoys plugins for even greater flexibility. Plus the Soundtoys 5 Bundle includes our new vintage digital delay plug-in PrimalTap which is really, really awesome."

Damn, an online shop with good taste, who knew?

I'm interested, but want to find out if it makes sense for me.. Currently I have no processing plugs but for what comes stock with Logic Pro X. (this product will work with that, right?) I hate Dongles, and have little in the way of outboard gear and like the idea of saving $ by using the soft stuff if it's high quality.
Mostly interested in mastering tools and compressors for individual tracks - and possibly a de-esser and a simple to use EQ for tracks. If people have suggestions that guide me in a different direction (like a different brand, I'm all ears - but apparently the IK stuff is pretty high quality. If it goes OT, I'll be happy to start another thread.
So I see that I can pick up the "Deluxe Suite" for $199. That's 9 of the cheaper plugs - but mostly for mastering, right? Plugs that I'm interested in are the 76 and 2A - partly because I'm thinking about getting an LA-610 at some point and want to 'test-drive' the equipment on the cheap. The higher end EQ plugs look interesting as well - I like the idea of learning how to color the sound, as well as to get tracks to pop and/or sit happily in the mix, and these tools look like they could be simple to use and learn with. I'm going to try micing my piano after I get the space treated. I know that will be a challenge, so (EQ) plugs that could help with that might be of great value.
Thoughts?

If it were me, I might think about getting into their Group Buy 2 or 3 times (http://www.ikmultimedia.com/trgb/). That'll save you a lot of cash and get you everything you'd want. For instance, you could buy the Master EQ 432, EQ73 and EQPA and get another 9 plugs for free. From what's left you could pick up the Black76, White2A, Fairchild, Precision Comp, Bus Comp, British Channel, EQPG, Pultec and Tape Echo. Total cost would be $320 if you bought it at one of the retailers like audiodeluxe. Or, they're doing an "All-in" deal right now that'll get you ALL the T-Racks plug for about $420 if you buy it from one of their dealers… Good luck!

The LA-610 is not the same compressor as the LA-2A. Also, you can't patch a different pre into the compressor section of the LA-610, so you're a bit locked in with that piece. The IK stuff sounds good to my ears. The FabFilter stuff is my favorite for clean and gui. The Softube Summit is really nice and I've heard good things about their other plugs too. Waves CLA compressors are good. Some of the Plugin Alliance is cool. Soundtoys effects are awesome. Also, if you work in education, you can get a discount on some of this stuff. FabFilter is 50% off for the education licenses, but you can't resell them.

Well, it is tomorrow over here and nothing on the Fabfilter site. Bummer. Audiodeluxe has FabFilter for 25% off. The cheapest I can find the FabFilter Total Bundle is $667.17 at JJR with discount code "group". Has anybody found it any cheaper? It's a bit more at Audiodeluxe at $674.79, but you get UVI Grand Piano Model D for free, if that's important to you.

The compressor in the LA-610 may not be the same, but it is similar ..no? ...and yes I understand the 610 is only good for tracking, but I was hoping to get a feel for how it's compressor would work (and sound?). So I 'm checking out the FabFilter stuff, and though I was secretly hoping for retro-looking/RLgear mimicking plugs, I know that I should be going for the stuff designed to do its job as a gui. I'll check out some of the others, but in the interim, I've applied for the FF educator's discount. Thanks J

It's not the sound that I would want for all my tracks. I'd rather have a compressor that I could use with other preamps in front of it.
