So - I just went over to the CAPI thread in the low end and I see that a few moderators have said that the thread couldn't be moved because of some technical issues, blah, blah, should be locked and started over.
Well - in creating this forum, I've had a few mysteries cleared up for issues I had on GS. First of all, I'm not sure what the big deal in moving the thread would be - hell, they moved it TO the Low End in the first place...All they have to do as a moderator is click on a link that says MOVE, then they have the option of moving all posts above or below. I'm sure different hosts are limited - but I would imagine a site with 200,000 members probably has a handle on this. So...they just don't want to move it. It does them more good to shut everybody up and let that thread die.
Also, there was a time when after about two weeks of posting - I noticed no one was responding to any of my posts. I'd ask a question, no one would respond...then jokingly ask if I was radioactive...still no response. Well - guess what you can do as an admin on a message board? You can hide a members posts from anyone else seeing it. It happened to me and I know for a fact that it happened to Tony Arnold from Helios. It's bullshit.

let me explain why I was banned from Gearslutz. LOL, that's nothing. Some day I'll tell you about my many bannings at GS. Anyway, I'm really posting just to say Hi, after Joey Legnon was kind enough to point me to this forum and invite me to join. I can contact him and find out what sort of minimum order we'd need to make it worth his while and make it affordable. What do you guys think of Johnkenn's design? I like the idea of having a shirt for the board. Perhaps it can be a way to help raise some bucks to keep the administrative side of things going. What is a reasonable price people would be willing to pay? |

If it's possible, I would like to see the beautiful "Real Gear Online" logo that John designed on the front and back (replacing the "ban me"). If that could be done on a black or dark blue t-shirt, I'm definitely in! Price depends on quality. If it's a quality t-shirt, I could see paying $30, with all profit going to help run this site. I would order at least a half dozen (large).

Nobody outside of the forum founders would understand the ban me.
Personally, I would rather have just one logo on either the front or back. Single sided printing keeps costs down too.

I actually appreciated it as I was about to start PM'ing people since I kept hearing people mention the new board but I had no idea where it was! Then your PM popped in with the address. Good timing! But all it took was one or two guys to complain and I'm sure the Mods were more than excited to ban anyone having to do with this forum . I've taken a year break myself in the past from visiting GS because the place would get to me , just really annoy me. So for me its like , cool , a year break , that sounds like a good idea right now , I haven't had one in awhile . It used to be an awesome site , filled with pro engineers and I always learned something new . Now it seems like all the pro's that I could actually learn from left , and it turned into an online Guitar Center , filled with annoying , loud teenagers , and Vulture Salesmen trying to make as much money as possible off you....... Theres a couple working for a living engineers that own studios that I talk to for advice , and whenever I say " I posted this track on Gearslutz for advice and got some feedback , what do you think of it ? " both of them say " Uh , Oh ......how about you send me the track BEFORE you started getting advice on Gearslutz "........ Well that reaction pretty much sums up Gearslutz of today . |
