There is something ONLY SLIGHTLY self-destructive about banning people from your free internet forum that relies for its existence on traffic and when this is a function of the content that's generated which is a result of members posting... in the early, sturmy-drangy days, when I was banned or expelled or exiled or however the lawyers want to frame it, it struck me... "Isn't this essentially a case where people, all over the far flung corners of the world, are typing on their computer keyboards and reading the texts on their screens? What is the worst case scenario that could POSSIBLY happen... well..." as I thought about it, mindfully, with deep reflection, "...well... in that case, in the worst-scenario case, people would, in a backlash of unleashed furies and barely suppressed rages, continue to type on their keyboards and look at their screens... And?"
This last inquiry seemed more a rhetorical question than anything else... and I'm STILL wondering...

Wishing you well with this forum. I mod on vintagesynth.com and swing by GS now and again, a very odd forum, certainly at times hostile in fact. Such a shame.
Anyway looking forward to seeing your new site grow.

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that pretty much all the posts so far have been laid back and stress free? It's nice to be able to post without wondering if it "fits".

Matt: which browser are you using? I'm using Safari on a mac and the nav button is always at the top of my screen... Hi, I'm here too, Junior actually made me come here, glad I did. Yes the nav button is on the top, would be great to have one on the buttom as well so I don't always have to scroll up to get to the next page. Otherwise, I like the design and the colors. And the logo!

I sense that this place will have a higher ethical standard than GS, shouldn't be difficult, actually... Now, if we could skip all that 'which-preamp-for-which-mic-for-which-DAW-and-how-can-I-sell-a-million-records'-BS, I'd be in heaven. Oops, can I say BS here? I received an infraction at GS for those 2 letters...

I mean, it would be nice to be able to just go to the next page from the bottom of the current page, if that makes sense. Also, the 'Preview' button of the window you write a new post in does not seem to work for me.

There is no post numbering system on this board...which is about the ONLY thing I don't like more than most boards I've been too...However, if you go to the little "gear" symbol on the upper right, you can click "Link this post" then you can choose between two URL's - link to the post in this thread and link to just this post. There is a post ID within that link.

It is a very cool feature!

I really like the floating nav buttons also.
Junior was kind enough to send me the link to this forum, for which I thank him profusely! As much as I have enjoyed gearslutz, many of the members that I learned the most from are already here (cowboycoalminer, johnkenn, etc.).
I have very little recording experience compared to most of you guys, so I won't be able to contribute much, other than the occasional silly question. But I'm grateful for being able to learn from professionals willing to share their knowledge. Thank you for this!

Thanks Tony.
In Gearslutz my username is LesC, here it was translated to lowercase so it doesn't make quite as much sense. My name is Les Czegel, I'll have to figure out a better username.
