Loven this thread! Surprised by how many unique pieces you fella's have Here's another one, Rode K2, mic has been modified extensively as well as the PSU, has a nos mullard tube, I painted the body black epoxy, i polished the head basket to shiner up a bit and this guy is sporting a Tim Campbell CT12 capsule, the mic is really shiny up high, sounds really nice on darker acoustic instruments and has a nice air as a room mic, I do not use it for close vox at all as it gets pretty sibilant, it is great for backup vox at a distance

Here's my C12 clone, TC CT12 capsule, beyschlage resistors in places, rel-cap styrenes, vitaminQ output cap, AMI t14, orange ink 6072, it's a top of the list sounding mic edit; upon further look its a green ink that i believe i got from Christian Whitmore=sounds glorious

Cool. BTW the version I sent JJ and effectively Beckley (thank God!) had the breathiness minimized. Yikes! (couldn't find that edited file-Oh well you get the idea) Chris

I particularly like the white color on your flea 251, did you paint that yourself? What do you find your 251 to work best on? I imagine it must be stellar considering the capsule is probably a tim campbell😂 Thisis one of FLEA's prototypes. Notice the unchromed headbasket. I think of 251s as primarly vocal mics but the arexcellent also ondrum overheads and acoustic instruments. Hey Tim, i pulled my elam bodies off and painted them white, couldn't resist after seeing yours, i'll post em up after i getem back together

Did you mod the Flea, or do they use the BZ capsule?

Did you mod the Flea, or do they use the BZ capsule? It’s definitely a mod; or a replacement of a broken original Flea capsule. However, I’m curious which Flea capsule was originally in it and which Beesneez capsule it was replaced with.

I replaced the Flea M7 with the Beesneez K7, a recommendation from Paul Cheeba. Which turned out great, the mic sounds awesome to my ear

Beyer M201, great off axis rejection as a hyper cardioid, never used it on anything but snare, and never by itself as it comes off a little thin, very good for articulation though, if anyone has another "use" suggestion i should try... i'm all ears

They are better than you think if you take lots of time to position them.
