Interesting point raised on the purple site. Calling a top end 47 clone a Tribute 1 is confusing when people are skimming through. With the advent of the BN251 would it be more sales friendly to use titles like BN47 etc? With so many mics out there now I feel we have to cut to the chase. Thoughts? I'll 2nd this sentiment and say that the 'Tribute' naming confuses me somewhat even when on the internet reading about the beesneez mics - Case in point I've been mulling over how foolish I might seem coming into this thread and asking those more knowledgeable than myself whether this new 251 is the existing 'Tribute 2' on the site or an updated and more faithful take on the original AKG? Looking at the website it would seem that the 'Tribute 2' has a review going back to at least 2019 which would suggest that it's a different design to the build being discussed in this thread... Going back to Paul's larger point though naming such as BN251 is elegantly simple even if many other manufacturers and themselves using the same convention. (After all the 'Classic Series' uses this same format.) It’s a different new microphone based on a 1:1 251 design. I imagine they all sound fantastic but an updating of the names wouldn’t hurt to make it easier for casual buyers.

Agree; the tribute thing doesn't make sense.Just name it Beesneez 251, BN47 etc.
Also the naming of the series aren't very clear. I would have worked out a more clear definition between the 3 series so it's more easy to understand. Especially the tribute Vs classic. You only need one series that are a no compromise line-up.

There is intentionality in the current naming via Series however, I would like to see a side-by-side chart with differences between Tribute and Classic
Classic Series
For many years, our customers have asked us to launch a microphone series that would provide an affordable option for these classic beauties. We have been able to achieve this without a compromise on build or sound quality.
For this reason, the BeesNeez Classic Series was created. The newest addition to the BeesNeez range, this range allows us to keep our promise to the industry to bring the highest-quality microphones to the market at an affordable price.
Each microphone in the Classic Series includes BeesNeez transformers, capsules and swivel mount connectors, all adding to the outstanding quality of the BeesNeez Classic Series. You will not be able to find another clone microphone of the same standard.
Tribute Series
There seems to be a constant pressure in the market to have microphones that sound just like the classics of days gone by. To meet this demand, BeesNeez Microphones has designed a range of microphones that will produce sounds comparable to their vintage counterparts, while still being unique and holding to the pattern of not being a clone manufacturer. Rather, we seek to produce fitting tributes to a wonderful part of history. The BeesNeez Tribute Series microphones have the same sonic characteristics as the classics, but also benefit from the added addition of BeesNeez ingenuity. The end result is: the same character, the same sonic capturing, more features and an improved build quality. The Tribute Series brings all of this together into a beautifully presented microphone that is going to stand the test of time.

Hi All. Your comments and thoughts are very interesting and we may over time look at simply working toward some better product naming that makes more sense! On the topic of the BN251, here is the link….. beesneezproaudio.com/product/classic-bn251/Thanks again for all your ideas and support. We actually have made so many improvements over the last few years thanks to this awesome “Brain Trust”!!!!! Ben

I think it's possible "World Series" might catch on. Just maybe.

I got my order in for my BN 251’s and I’m so excited. Remember there’s only 30 pairs to start so don’t hang about.

Hi there. For the first 30 we are aiming to keep the price trim at around $3500. USD Thanks Ben Hi Ben! This one caught my curiosity. Have the first 30 been sold yet? If not, I'm happy to sneak in and grab one. If so there are any left, should I take it via KMR Audio GMBH (saw that they were your EU dealer). Live in Sweden and had to do with Toni Korsten at KMR Audio GMBH when I bought the "Stager SR1A". Super nice guy. Let me know if you have any of the first 30 mics left? KR H.Hansson

Oh man - I'm so ready to buy this mic but am out of town on vacation for the next couple of weeks. Reached out to see whether Beesneez would consider delaying shipment. Looking forward to hearing from people who get their hands on one (Or 2!).

Indeed Ben was very accommodating when I reached out and asked if they’d be willing to delay shipment so I had time to get back before the mic arrives. They will and so now I’ve gone ahead and put in an order for one of these first batch.
I briefly considered waiting until I felt more comfortable springing for a pair but ultimately decided that with modern standards being what they are I could safely order a second down the road and not agonize too much about having a matched pair or consecutive serials (Though it would be nice for the pure cool of it).

I learned the hard way not to... Yell "Shotgun!" boarding a plane. But I was bored. Chris Our road crew got really drunk at JFK and one them had the round mic stand base in his hand luggage for some reason and after about 20 goes through the x-ray scanner the drunken bright spark says don’t worry it’s not a landmine - this must have been 1 year or less post 911. They manhandled him and put him in the cells. Eventually charging him for spitting on the sidewalk. Needless to say he couldn’t face us again.

Post Burns was doing a play performance art piece with a handicapped guitarist in ST Louis and living in TX at the time so we flew, was carrying 2 ch of Sennheiser Wireless in my carry on. Now in the US it is technically illegal to single out someone based on stereotypes, except the TSA is allowed to profile if you’re missing digits because it’s very common for bombers to blow off their fingers. Guy with 1.5 missing fingers who looks like me with a companion who is missing an obvious missing finger & who’s second Toe is now her thumb with a couple of large cylinders with circuit boards = 2 hours of everything in the carry one being swabbed ! Some how my brand new Oakleys ( thank you Trek and Ann Doctor) never made it back in the bag. I know FedEx mics.

So there’s been a BN 251 spotted in the Sydney area. Must be the first out there. I’m waiting patiently on the other side of the world for my pair.

I think you can tell just by looking at the body that the quality is much more solid than the GAP. The internal build looks much more artisan too. The fact it’s half the price and it has a proper ck12 and nos parts are obvious by looking at it too. As Ben says the plastics look like the Flea which is a good build so I think we’re on to something really special here especially for the price. It is the same Paul. It even has the same weird screws that the GAP has/had on the plastic intervals. I'm not sure why you bash the GAP though. I had an original side by side at my place and it was spot on, cosmetically. The only thing that wasn't a 100% Match was the headgrill, still looked good. And to be clear, I'm not saying that Beeznez/Ben has been dishonest or anything like that. I think you should be smart when you source certain parts. It's still the sum of all parts that makes the mic. The GAP 251 is a fantastic sounding looking microphone. Along side mics x3 the price it is right in the pack with the best of them, which the better ones are absolutely not the most expensive of them. Bo deserves respect and appreciation for what he achieved with his 251's, while some of these ultra boutique priced ones should be ashamed of what they get away with. I'm 100% with you on the GAP 251 series Chris
