really curious to demo. might pull the trigger if i like it and use that 2 plug for $99 deal. no idea what else i'll get as i already own a ton of UAD plugs. maybe Oxford dynamic eq or the api eq? nothing i'm really dying for, admittedly. maybe the katz ambience recovery or i'm wondering if the mic modeling plugs might be fun to mess with even if i don't own the sphere? or do you have to?

latest UA email taunt says there is something "big" for guitar players coming out on Monday so I'm going to hold off and see if it's an Ox plugin or something else more useful than my current second plugin choices
quite a few good options there including newer releases but nothing's really jumping out at me, I'm uad over-saturated
sort of leaning towards Manley VoxBox or Massive Passive or... something that is different/utilitarian

Curious about that also! I, too, have way too many UAD plugs. I have an octo and I noticed the mix I was working on yesterday was only using like 18% of the card! A bit of an anomaly but I still rarely break like 60% |

I don’t think you can use the modeling without owning the mic. But that would be cool. |

I haven't bought the individual EQs because I had the channel included in the system I bought. |

I just got the API Vision as part of the Signature bundle. Pumped to have that 550A I’ve always dug that EQ.

Also, messed with Sound City more last night. It’s cool, I dig it and will use it. Sounds more like a room than other things I’ve tried to achieve with reverb. And very handy to be able to sculpt it with (good) EQ and compression already integrated.

I have the legacy vision though I never use it. I mostly got it cuz I prefer the added frequency pts of the eq vs the 550a but I honestly end up using the old wave’s version instead - I kinda appreciate the shitty grit of it.

I don't know if I'd go so far as saying that they completely cut ties with them. Softube did just release updates for control of UA plugins with C1. So that partnership still remains, in that context at least. But it does seem like Softube is no longer going to release any future plugins for the UAD platform. |

Whelp I went and bought UA plugins without realizing the Native versions aren’t compatible with Mojave…
I’ll have to wait for a gap in my schedule to update and sort through any issues. It’s really a bummer because I really wanted to use Sound City on some mixes I’m trying to finish.

Sweetwater has a plug in os compatibility page, maybe check that for the plugs you need to finish your current work, then after backing up, just go for it ! |

Sound City in combination with Black Salt Silencer is amazing. I'm taking kit mics (pair of ribbons in front of the kit, EV RE50 center kit/crotch mic) that are pretty full of cymbals, getting rid of the cymbals with Silencer, then sending to Sound City room. Doing something I've wanted to do for a long time, but not quite pulled off.

Doing something I've wanted to do for a long time, but not quite pulled off. I need to try this again as I’ve been sending all my kit to the drum bus and then sending that to a zener parallel. SC at 300 fast release attack to taste and then drive it. Mixing that in gives me that extra room crush without getting in the way. That being said you can actually route channels to multiple buses (it’s opt or command or something) in PTs…so you could route just the K, S and TOMS to the zener (or SCS) and avoid the cymbals. I’ve tried that before and I think it made me exceed the delay comp…but need to try again. |

I’m trying to decide whether to stay with $20 a month for spark or $100 for two plugs I use and don’t own in spark…then cancel spark.
I really only need the Cap comp (or I could just go back to something else) and I guess I’d get scs…but it’s cool to have stuff like the standalone Leslie and Rhoades…neither of which I never use but would immediately need them once iI canceled the sub. Lol
Wish I had a coupon.
