I’d bring my Beesneez 47-type body to the battle! Just the body tube though, easy to replace and tubes and capsules are delicate. Maybe after he builds the B37 we can get Ben to build a special combat mic, the club. |

To all in this thread: The only issue I have had with this whole saga, both here and on GS, is that allegations are easy to make. All people like Tim and myself have asked for is evidence to support the claims. But there has been much deflecting from that, and that is unfortunate. Also please note that I have no problem with Pauls’s opinions. Each to their own. But opinions aren’t facts. And getting confirmation that all the claims are facts is all that is being asked. It is a fair request of anyone making claims that they support those with evidence. Well the fact that the flea mics have come with tubes that weren’t the ones advertised is pretty well documented online and Paul is not the only poster who’s been a bit disappointed, or surprised at least. |

Tim just out of curiosity, if you and a manufacturer decide to cut ties do you have it written in to your original agreement that within x amount of time they must remove any references to you in all marketing materials? I know a couple of driver manufacturers who have implemented this because of all the Chinese copies. Unfortunately I can’t reveal who they are. Yes Eric. I make sure that if their product doesn't contain my capsule that they no longer use my name.
About the things that retailers themselves post, a manufacturer should be dilligent about making sure the reseller gets correct info about the microphone ( craigmorris74 just showed that FLEA hasn't used this text in at least 3 years) but it would prohibit FLEA for example from building ANY mics if they had to constantly check all the promo texts retailers generate. It just is not possible.
I have wasted a good amount of time trying to get retailers AND manufacturers to correctly list or describe my capsules. It can be never ending.
I can 100% vouch for the fact that babysitting dealers can be an absolute PITA and one of my least favorite parts of running a small outfit |

I think we all remember when Klaus caught some heat for his analysis... Of the 67 Reissue. * IMHO if we stay focused on any hard evidence (Like Eric's "Club" sorry couldn't resist  ) ?  . This is a VERY rarified level of mic "analysts" indeed. I understand that expert opinions may differ. Let's just remember everyone is entitled to my opinion. Eric has been at the heart of direct sales, I've been a paid consultant and evangelist for several brands. Presently, neither one of us are being paid by anyone. . . and I know this of both of us: We only push what we KNOW from personal experience to be good. Occasionally, a manufacturer realizes the value of that as well. It's rare, but it happens. But that's it for agenda! It's really that simple. |

Ward pretty much nailed it, when at one point you ran retail for one of the top 5 dealers in the US, you pretty much have a equal conflict with every manufacturer it all equals out. If I have a relationship that extends beyond that I will point it out. One reason other tha health I haven’t taken any positions that have been offered is I like the fact I can tell it how it is. Also hanging in the office of The companies lawyer you learn a lot. When asked what exactly my job was I simply put it this way “ what ever the hell neeeded to be done.” |

drbill that just tells me that the dealers don’t update their sites. That is not the point I’ve been trying to make. I really don’t know how to better communicate it. bricejchandler this is the first time I’m hearing of this issue. And I have spent time of late going through Flea related threads, and I hadn’t picked up on anything remotely similar. But cool, moving on.

I don’t know why they use such bad sounding capsule" drbill I think what suicity is trying to say is that We haven't seen any evidence of Paul's mic. My capsule is being maligned here I would at least like to see that Paul has it and it is in fact the latest version of my capsule. Paul's description of dodgy body work also would be nice to see because it would not be typical. What is so hard about posting a couple of pics to clear this up? And what is all that implied "chinese" website? |

Guess, we are understanding this differently?
I thought Paul was criticizing Chinese capsules but then also saying he didn't like the sound of yours?
Did he put your cap in the flea mike or do you supply the capsule for it?
I have your cap is my c12, (studio 939 build with upgraded tube), I would never characterize your cap as thin or unpleasant.

No complaints here with my c12 or SA67 caps, both yours.
I think your request to see pics of the mike/cap not unfair then, in the sense, that if different cap gens have sonic differences, you could discuss.
One thing, I don’t understand, no dig at Paul, but Tim, I thought you retune your caps on request and based on your availability?
Do you still offer that service?

Everyone, has a right to their opinion, but I have always understood you to be one of the best caps builders. No complaints here with my c12 or SA67 caps, both yours. I have been so busy with OEM work that unfortunately I don't have as many private customers as I used to. To answer your question yes. Thx for the clarification and I do understand your constraints. Basically, somebody contacts you, you discuss their needs, they ship you the mike, you retune, contact client and discuss status/progress, then ship mike back ?
