Played around with SBii app today. Wow! Yes can widen but so much more. From snappy to smoothing to thickening, eq etc.

Let me know how much first, though...if it's like $50, I'd probably rather just go with a yearly sub and get the other stuff too. I logged in and looks like I was eligible for the $140 price. But the Plugin-Alliance Mega deal at $149 allows you to get 3 plugs free immediately and then a yeah with like 180 other plugs (probably 90% I'd never touch)... |

I thought the SB was a hardware solution to the “2D flat boring output” of a DAW mix bus - something I think the hardware does a good job of achieving - thus proof the advantages of hardware on the stereo mix bus - it fu cations like a mini 2 channel mixer - I get that. By its own definition how can it work in plugin form? |

Any plug in manipulates your sound, you either like that or not.
I didn’t demo or buy it for dimensionality, but for its Neve/api pre emulations, eq’s , sound modules, etc., I also find the presets very useful.
If you haven’t demoed, it: try it and see: a steal at current price.

I have this and the MK1 hardware. They serve different purposes. The plugin really sounds and works a lot like the hardware, but I still use the hardware because I just have a general approach that hardware is better for higher amounts non-linear distortion.
For the plugin it's worth the price alone just for whatever magic is happening when you click the widening button (can't remember what it's called). It sounds great. And the VHS tape effect is great too.
I have this as part of the PA subscription but may buy perpetual anyway to support LTL and because it's used on every single mix, I'd hate to lose it.
