I have 3 hardware Silver Bullets (MkI & MkII) and was able to give real world feedback and beta test during the development of this plugin vs my hardware. IMO, what this plugin offers sonically for the price is an absolute steal. It sounds amazing. Period. It is NOT a cheap gimmicky prosumer plugin like some on the market. It’s a high end professional tool. The ranting and raving over prices these days drives me a bit crazy. We are SO spoiled with excellent plugins these days. And this one is absolutely incredible. Worth every penny IMO. YMMV. But probably not the right tool for those looking for cheap plugins or $9.99 subscription models. Congrats to BradM and drbill and the team for a stellar release. The industry is fortunate to have a tool like this available

This sounds exciting and I'm looking forward to trying the SB plugin. The dimensional difference between plugs and hardware is often noticeable to me and I've looked forward to when software conquers that aspect more consistently. Congrats to you Dr. Bill and everyone at LTL! Thanks Mike! You can get a demo at louderthanliftoff.comAnd I thought you were here to help lol Haha!!! Sorry man...... The description of plug in features is very well done! Thanks. Much appreciated. Brad is the man!!

Bought it using my last Forever 29 voucher. I trust Dr Bill, and I've been waiting over a year for an excuse to use the voucher (And I've thought about a HW version for a couple years off and on but it's never been in the budget short of hitting the lottery.) Woo hoo!

Thanks for your golden ears on this Benny!!!! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! Aw, thanks, Doc! Today is the big 4-0. I'm officially over the hill, as my mother would say 🤣 Better to be over the hill. Than under it. I wish I was born on the 29th of February, "Leap Year" day. Then I'd only be 16. In "Chris Years" Happy Birthday Benny! At least your lit cake, is only a small wildfire. Compared to mine. Chris P.S. Happy belated 11th Birthday to Josh, and big 10th to Benny. In "Chris (or Studio?) Years".

Quick Application Note for Mk1 SB owners :
TURN YOUR MK1 INTO A MK2
- insert and use your mk1 as you normally would. (On the EQ section, I prefer to use the analog hardware EQ in the Sub and Air positions)
- follow on the next insert with the plugin version and use Mojo C, HF Presence, and Aspect Ratio.
Voila! You essentially have the best of both worlds. Analog SB goodness, along with the new features of mk2, and the additional new features of the SB Plugin!
Hope you guys are enjoying it!

Dr Bill, I think I remember this but if you could confirm here, the original idea behind the Silver Bullet is that it simulates the sound of a trip through both an API and a Neve console, and not just the preamps and channel strips but the *whole* console in both cases, correct?
And if I'm correct about that, was one of your goals for the sound of the plug-in to get that same cumulative effect on the tone, transients, etc, ITB?

PM to be sent before "bed" tonight. Am supposed to go back to work pretty soon. (I have to turn over so the gorgeous Tropicana Model can put some sunscreen on me) I do wonder sometimes if her single Mom is near as cute! Am more active at lichess.org Their arch-competitor. Thanks! Chris

Yes, American into British, or vice versa, and with mk2 we added that iconic automated British 4000 console as an additional option - 3 in 1. Just cause people wanted it, and we could. Our goal with the plugin was to get it as close to the mk2 hardware as we could, then add a few extra things to it that hardware can't easily or cost effectively do. I think the last 10 years has shown us quite successful on the first front. On the second, the jury is still out, but the comments so far are overwhelmingly positive. Hope that answers your questions.

I snuck in on the PA beta and have been testing it for the past few weeks against my MK1 VCSB with Carnhills. I did exactly what drBill talks about here on a mix except the presence eq. Adding the Hitmaker and aspect ratio on this particular mix via plugin after MK1 HW was awesome. It was also nice being able to use it elsewhere without printing. I didn't read the manual until using it for a week, there's some awesome new ideas in here like virtual parts bin where everyone's plugin is slightly different (like analog builds but you can share serials if you want exact same), the flux setting (over time analog circuit changes that could be tempo synced if desired), dyna-realism, circuit bending, all so awesome and I haven't even found all the Easter Eggs yet. The SP1200 C slot module is killer on drums. For anyone interested here's a drum loop comparison matched in Plugin Doctor of MK1 with Carnhills and CAPI CA-0252's vs the plugin, only used what the MK1 had. www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/qj7h0t0c0vcfjiwaf2n3c/h?rlkey=7n7478sk0uoav3mb8h1tnfkwv&dl=0

When you track on a big API and then hear the tracks for the first time not coming back through large faders, it’s a real eye opener. The channel amplifiers really do add mojo. You get home and listen ITB and it’s just not quite as euphonic as you remembered for this reason. (And probably some general shine coming off or a great tracking day with some critical distance).

Careful now…gonna undermine a lot of gear sales if we start allowing that kind of perspective

I use the Chop Shop plugin on kick drums all the time - and what it does gets me there faster than anything else I’ve used.
Will definitely check this one out.

I'm an old guy who loves hardware. With everything going digital, there is an homogenization of output. Very few people are set apart from the crowd anymore, since everyone ultimately sound the same. I like LTL, and think their gear ( hardware ) is great, especially the Silver Bullett. I only wish them well....... People should have the same oportunities as everyone else. People should set themselves apart from the crowd because of talent and hardwork, nothing to do with the equipment. The homogenization of output has nothing to do with a greater accessibility of the technical part of things, it has to do with talents becoming themselves products, and being part of a industry that would like to make artists like they make cars. I don't disagree with you. It used to be one would seek out a particular studio because of the "sound" that differentiated that place from another, all other things being equal. Sadly, a lot of, if not most, of them are gone.

Tested the plugin on a few productions in addition to a couple of masters I did earlier this week. I'm really surprised at how good it sounds. The headroom knob comes in very handy. On a drum bus I'd like that there would be an eq for the saturation so it wouldn't distort so easily on kick drums.
Would buy it right away if I had a big voucher.

It says a lot about RGO when you compare the discussion here vs the Purple Place, where some Rando is claiming that he could program something equivalent to this plug-in within 15 minutes.

It says a lot about RGO when you compare the discussion here vs the Purple Place, where some Rando is claiming that he could program something equivalent to this plug-in within 15 minutes. 1) If that's true he should definitely do that, call it the Golden Bullet, and sell it at half price. Somehow I don't think that's going to happen. 2) Even if that were somehow true, all that's really saying is "I have no ideas of my own but I do have enough skill to copy your ideas after you create them." Again, the dude's obviously full of beans but my point is that the most he would be saying is that he's good at ripping off other peoples work. Tell him to go apply for a job at Behringer.
