Alright then . . . like a lot of you, I have pretty much everything. And like most of us, always second guessing what I'm doing and looking to mix things up.
What worked last year will probably work this year, but why not just mix it and start all over again? Just embarked on the acoustic tracks on a new record and I'm just not getting the acoustics to sit where I want.... just below the surface but still holding it all together and the harmonic structure floating on top.
Friends, Romans, Countrymen, lend me your thoughts!

Molot GE provides total control over the picking and body with the alpha-sigma attack transfer curve modifier. It's like Arouser but better.

millennia tcl2 lives on guitar over here. If I want a different flavor I go ITB. but for hardware, depending on the flavor I also really like distressor, 33609, 1176, Amek9098 (i really like this one). The millennia gives me a "it isn't compressed but it feels how I like it" sort of sound and that's timing related.

Just gonna add I really wish I had another Daking. I looked for a while and they kept getting more and more expensive. Cranesong Trakker also gets used on acoustic sometimes. I can make it sound bad though with user error.
Cheers, Geoff

I really like the Retro Revolver on acoustic. All that beautiful RS124 tone with faster & variable attack and release.

-If the acoustic a big part in the arrangement : RS124, often in Superfuse -If it's a supporting element: LA-3A or Distressor -If fingerpicked: 1176

Cool question!
One of the best acoustic guitar sounds I ever got was a flat picked arpeggio thing through an RND Portico 5012 finished by a Distrssor in Opto mode. It didn't happen a lot - I gave the specifics due to the rarity - but it was really nice capture.
Otherwise, just kissing an LA3A was very reliable and finished sounding (I only had the reissues, no experience with the vintage ones).

FCS P4 DMS or P3500 mostly these days. Sometimes the RS124’d Altec 436C when the slow attack works. I used SA-39’s and 26U’s heavily when I had them. FC526 a few times but I’m generally not partial to the FET comp zing on acoustics, not usually looking for extra metal rasp. Never the Distressor. Maybe i should try the Allison Gain Brain and see if it also does the zing. Actually Langevin ELOP has been cool, haven’t done that one in awhile.

I loved the Langevin ELOP back when I had one.
Sometimes I like the Acme Opticom XLA-3 plugin - I bet the hardware is better.

For rock n roll big and bold anything works really dial in for taste. 1176 , Retro STA, LA3A ….. it’s a long list.

The Audioscape V3A. It pretty much always works. Is it not doing it for you? The V3a is fantastic. gets used every day. LA3a and 1176 are [retty much what I use 95% of the time Wish I had an 1178. Just seeing what everyone else is thinking. Great replies. Thank you all!!
