A little off topic - I just ordered an ATM25 from Japan. I needed another for my kit anyway. I will post back on final costs once I receive it in a few weeks. How do you find the Atm25 next to the atm230 on Toms and kick etc? So far, I haven't compared them. I have 3 ATM230 on the toms except the 16", which has the ATM250 on it. I just liked the sound of the ATM25 on kick so much that I just left it there.

Seeing as the 230 and 25 seem almost the same, I was curious if “almost” the same wasn’t really the same.

ATM650 is a good mic! It’s just closer to the SM57 than the discontinued ATM63HE but cheaper. It’s way cleaner than the SM57 and takes eq better! And no Beyer shenanigans like wanting 400 bucks for a more fragile but cleaner 57

I have an original ATM63, not the HE version. It's pretty much like a 57. I used to use it on a Leslie cabinet when I toured. Now, it lives on snare bottom. It must be very depressed... almost as bad as it I stuck it on hi hat duties. :-)

The one thing with the ATM63 is it always seamed to work better with the chip based pre’s found in cheap consoles like a Mackie that lived in clubs.
