I think Hitsville is intended for an aux at 100% wet, use the channel send to control amount?

I had to update, but finally got the Hitsvillemplug-in working. The Capitol Chambers sounds good, works normally, but the Hitsville plug is doing something strange. If I put it on a bus, it works normally, but if I put it on one track, the slightest amount of the Mix knob, positioned even less than zero gives me a ton of reverb. Only the slightest turn of that knob gets me a normal amount of reverb, like .02 % of the 100% available. I think I'm leaning toward the Capitol Chambers, but since I already have so many reverbs, I think I'll take a look around to see if there's some other plug I might have overlooked that can give me something I don't already have before closing on the 2 for $149 bundle with two $25 coupons .. I haven't used Luna yet, but the API Vision plug looks interesting.. I am coming right down to the wire on Hitsville myself. I think it sounds super cool but I'm not catching what everyone else is catching in terms of "works on lots of stuff". Maybe I need to try it on some different tracks. I do like it, but it feels like it emphasizes high end tails more than I like. I can fix that but if I'm fundamentally altering the sound of the chamber, what's the point? But to answer your prior question (a few posts ago) about Capitol? I use it on a lot of stuff. It's my go to. I put at least a pinch in pretty much every vocal FX chain and I also use liberally for instruments that I want to give that Pet Sounds vibe to. I like Capitol because, to me, it's like salt. A little makes a big difference, and sometimes even a lot is just what you want.

Hmm.. I demo'd the Tube Tech and the 176 to compare. If I listen in solo, the Tube Tech is cleaner, more transparent, which I usually prefer. You could say it sounds "better". But in a track, the 176 sits a little better and sounds more finished. It kind of de-esses little too. With coupons, I can get both the Capitol Chambers and the 176 for $108. That a fantastic price, I still have to consider if I should buy any plug-ins at all because I need a new monitor and hard drive right now. I can get just the 176 for $75, but it seems ridiculous not to buy another plug-in for $50 more. I do like the Capitol Chambers sound, but it seems like it might only work in an "Oldies" style, like a Sam Cooke track. I'm not sure if I'll really use it in general. I'll try it out tomorrow before the sale ends. I'm curious if anyone here uses the Capitol Chambers plug regularly. * I'm also considering selling my Stam Audio SA76 preamp and buying a hardware compressor mainly for tracking vocals. I'll most likely get either the Lin76 or the Lin2A. So the $108 could be put toward making up the difference between selling the Stam and getting a Lin Audio compressor. Tricky decisions when you're scrounging for cash but need some gear.. I use Capitol Chambers on almost every mix but combined with plates and other reverbs like FF Pro-R Using a short chamber really places the vocal in a defined space … and then combine with longer reverbs … or even send a super short chamber into a reverb .. using it as a very realistic early reflection generator. Capitol and Hitsville also work well for vintage of course

I'm just trying to decide if the C-Axe is worth it. I've decided to pick up Hitsville Chambers as one of the two. I just need to decide on the other one.

Indiehouse, are you referring to the API Vision or Capitol Chambers?
On a few occasions I've used an instance of a reverb on a track instead of placing it as a bus. I would expect any reverb to work either in a bus or in a track.

Hmm, picked up Ocean Way and the 224 in a 'pick any 2' bundle earlier.
Still haven't received the thank you voucher, though. Hope it arrives before the promo ends tonight.

okay, so i'm sold on Hitsville Chambers and I needed one more, so I'm going AMS RMX16. Tried the Zener limiter - it's cool but I dunno how excited I am about it. I don't know where I'd even use it. Not much else I don't have on UAD or comparable (softube, PA, Eventide, etc). Hitsville I could see working for drums for some punk bands, tbh. I love the giant Albini-esque drums but not all bands I work with want that, nor is it always appropriate. Just sounds real to me. RMX16 just had some cool presets in there that I thought brought some things to the table I don't have. Did you try the Hitsville EQ? I did. It sounded cool but I didn’t think it did anything I can’t get from other eq plugs I have. If I want colored eq, I like the pultec or curve bender, generally. I typically don’t love having my freq points so limited, also.

I’m thinking I could get similar sounds from my Soundays rack compared to the AMS delay. From what I understand, the big draw to the ANS delay is the independent modulation and pitch shift, which Soundtoys has that covered.

Anyone compared the API Vision to the Lindell 50? I just signed up for the spark trial, but haven’t recovered from the weekend yet. 😂😂

Yup. What are the chances they'll issue new ones before the 16th?

At uaforum Drew implied something was in the works: but, with ua that’s always true.

I'm just trying to decide if the C-Axe is worth it. I've decided to pick up Hitsville Chambers as one of the two. I just need to decide on the other one. I took it on the second turn of "pick 2" and it came in handy earlier today when I sat and played some bass and had a buzz sound around 50Hz. Connected the C-Axe and "boom". Gone and I could move on. Love it!

The coupon for the SSL bundle that expired on the 31st was pretty good. Basically, the channel strip and bus compressor for the same price as a 'pick any 2' bundle and two $25 thank you vouchers.

By the way, if one does not have the UAD EMT 140, it is highly recommended. It solved a problem yesterday despite numerous reverb options. I know it is not the latest of the UAD verbs but it is still a great one! Maybe because I do not spend a lot of time with some of the verbs I have. If you can, demo it! (Really smooth on hand drums which is always a pain for me to find the best reverb - and I have a Bricasti and Lexicon PCM92 in hardware.)

My top 2 UAD plugs are Manley Massive Passive and Tube Tech CL 1B. Use them all the time!
