Video Review The SA-670 MK2 features completely new XL and custom transformers by AMI in the US and Sowter in the UK. The new transformers sound spectacular providing a better frequency response, more low end and richer low mids while maintaining superb clarity. In more simple terms it is much more colored than the MK1. While the MK1 amplifier was identical of that of the Fairchild the compression curve was slightly different. We have addressed that on the MK2. Two more transformers were added on the front end of the Control Amplifier as well as two more Tubes which allowed us to precisely match the original compression curves on the Fairchild 670 which are now identical. I should have them in stock 10 weeks! I say should because we have sold over half the batch in under a week and not sure there will be any left but let's hope so!! Otherwise I am sure some distributors will have some in stock as they have reserved quite a few. We will certainly make more next year |

Considering the feedback I’ve heard from a couple of Stamchild mk1 owners was glowing, and knowing the cost of two other 670 clones are twice the price, It seems hard to beat this Stamchild mk2 for the cost/build with its addition of the DC threshold, and the mix knob it already had. I love the mix knob on another hardware piece I have.

I don't know if there will be any more reviews at this stage from Youtube or review channels, I am organizing a Fairchild 670 shootout but it will probably come out after we have sold out this batch already. Still cool to have around.
I expect (hope) there will be several organic user reviews in the next few weeks. So far everyone is stocked (myself included) with how beautiful this compressor sounds.
