I am really looking forward to reading here is from drBill getting that mic out recording somebody singing and reporting back! And please do not use the Silver Bullet - that is cheating. I'm in the middle of remixing / remastering literally hundreds of songs right now. Too many to count. I'm almost a year in, but making good progress. I'm going to try to get someone who can actually sing in to sing into it as soon as I can. I can't do it justice. More like torturing the mic. But no Silver Bullet?!?!? Tube pre or solid state? I'll also try to put it up against the H47T if I can. I put it thru a Coil CA70 and it sounded great on my voice....

It’s obvious, you’re not here for pro audio conversation, you’re here for the dispute you have going on with Heiserman. I warned you that I would delete anything else that was dragging this thread into personal matters. You failed and I just deleted about three posts. Do it again and I’ll ban you.

I can carry enough of a tune to make it worthwhile. And while I don't have the H47T, I do have the Soyuz and a CA-70. Close enough?

I'm willing to bet you a new in box never used 1967 Amperex EF86 that matt@IAA QP5 preamp will work amazingly well on that H251 because it has proven to be the BEST preamp I've ever used on the H47t with either M7 or HK47 capsules, AND the U67. (which has an Amperex EF86 in it).

Until then, it's got to be something I already have here....

I'd love to have this thing to compare to my Soyuz...Different things, of course, but I love this thing.

I'd love to have this thing to compare to my Soyuz...Different things, of course, but I love this thing. Man, this place is really bad for my bank account. I'm at the part of my life that I should be ramping down, but then I spend too much time with fellow addicts here.... John, I'd love to hear more about the Soyuz in comparison if you ever have both in the same place. The Soyuz 017 Tube has been on my radar a long time, but so has a 251. I already have 3 mics in the general U47 vein so fortunately, I don't feel a need to spend more there.

And I'm not just saying that as a gear shill. ;-)

It's stiff, if you like, unflinching in how it handles a signal. It's got color and Matt makes a few difference Op Amps for options, right down your alley with LTL. That being said, the A preamp option in your Silver Bullet louderthanliftoff.com/products/silver-bullet-mk2 or Tonebox?

The Heiserman method to mic-ing a 122 Leslie. H251 on top, and the H47t on the bottom. Of course if you want stereo on top, a pair of the H251s would come in handy.

I will try to beat Chris to this: Must sound organ-ic.

What else could there be, for a B3? Chris My fave, especially when Al Kooper sings along with his B3 solo:

Al Kooper had a fine voice. He downplays it, but the early BS and T's stuff is cool too. Chris
