Well, I finally bought an Upton 251! Maybe the only reason I found a new one available was all this excitement about Heiserman model being released. I’ve got no regret as of now though :-)
I will say: the Upton mount does not play well with my Latch Lake mic stand (won’t screw in at all)…which is a bummer. Hopefully the H251 has no such issue

I’ve had the Upton - it’s a great mic. Dallas does a fantastic job with the capsules and they look great. That being said, they’re two different things…The Heiserman is basically a 1:1 historically correct version. In the shootout I attended with Steiger’s vintage 251, H251 and the Upton, we all thought the H251 sounded like a brand new version of the vintage mic. The Upton sounded great too - not as close, but if you didn’t have the other two around, you’d have no idea. And it’s $2k cheaper. If you want as close to the real thing as you can get, spend the extra $2k. So I think the 251 market is great right now.

I'd like to hear the Heiserman against the Flea 251 if anyone gets a chance to do so!

I thought it was closer to $5k.

I have machined these parts for heisermann here in Lithuania. I have also modified some mechanical stuff so it is different from original. Also heisermann hasn’t paid us for our work which is worth 30k eur. Lawyers are involved so I would be very carefull purchasing this 251…you might be forced to return it. best, Andrew

If anyone can get theirs & put it up against the Upton it'd be a great service & much appreciated! Aremos, I have some tracks that put it up against the Upton. Send me a PM and I can get you a link to the session. You just can't publish a mix if you do one. i will be at Namn. I do hope to check your 251 more in depth. i will also film our discusion so it will be a great content for all

If there are legal disputes, you need to handle that somewhere else. This is not the forum for that and any further comments will be deleted. Edit: no one is going to have to return anything. This is not the way law works in the US. Again - ANY further comment not pertaining to the subject of the thread will be deleted.

Hey Andriejus you will be at NAMM? Wonderful. I will be on One F Sound's booth almost right across from the Heiserman booth.

If you wouldn't have added the "hasn’t paid us for our work", the not being 1:1 would've been more impactful.
You then state: " ... do hope to check your 251 more in depth ...". Does that mean you're not sure about the prior statement? And JohnKenn is absolutely correct. If this is a legal, internal matter, it shouldn't be done here & in a slanderous way! It sounds very unprofessional, to say the least.

Hey all,
I will say this! Don’t worry, no one will need to return a thing🤣🤣 And yes the Heiserman 251 is very slightly different than the original. It has an off the shelf binder part on the connector side of the mic that required a slight adjustment. We speak to this and shown this in pics posts on social media! I also want to address the Aputis in the room.. we are currently in a dispute and like Mr Kennedy said this is not the place to discuss. Also the next run and any future mics are 100% made by us. Not an Eastern European “manufacturer” Thanks, Eric Heiserman

Tim, That is 100% true. We commissioned Aputis to machine some of the brass parts for the 251. We also hired a company to make the metal work for the PSU. We also hired a company to do the injection molding. We also hired a company to make rivets…..we also hired a company to make us pcbs… Not sure why that matters? Company’s use outside resources all the time. I guess maybe you would know this of you made more than one thing? Seems to me like you’re stirring up shit cause you are holding some kind of grudge towards Heiserman Audio..

Ok. This stops now. Everything has been addressed. Argue this on your own time. Any further bickering will be deleted. If it hurts my relationship with either side, that sucks, but I won’t be put in this situation.

Even your website states that your mics are made in the USA. This is just the first time I seen you admit that isn't true. There is nothing wrong with getting parts made by others. I would have to do it if I made a complete mic. I would just be honest about it. It reminds me a bit of the fiasco with Telefunkens cheaper series.I believe Aputis is going to sell this body as a kit so we can just start a new thread about that. Man...don't wreck this thread Tim. I don't want John to shut it down. Hopefully, he'll just moderate it. I'm excited to get to using my H251. No reason for either andriejus or you to come in here and $#!@ all over someone else's integrity or product. Take it offline! Thanks.
