I would just want to insert it on master and leave it. I have zero outboard, I've been living in the software world since 1998 It's a popular choice, a pair of those Pulse Techniques Pultec's over the master bus is truly fantastic and you'd be reaching for plugin EQ a lot less, especially boosting, which to my ears is a weak point of digital EQ. Small matter of $10K !!!! Cheaper option would be, A pair of AML Pultec's - way cheaper (they even come in kits)

If you're into tilt EQs (we call them "see-saw" EQs), check out the Ingram Engineering EQ52. It's got a see-saw with sweepable pivot point. It also has low and high cut filters with super wide adjustment ranges. Gentle filter slopes for minimal phase artifacts and clean electronics so you can add your saturation type color with your favorite gear.

Out of all my EQ's - one thing I don't really find as "must have" is Pultec type EQ's. I use em, but I don't find them necessary for what I do. Agreed. I can just use a resonant shelf I can dial in better and there are cooler and smoother shelving EQs out there ime.
I like the PSP NobleQex one with the distortion off or turned down very low because it's much more flexible than a standard Pultec style eq but I rarely use it. The Slick EQ M is so much better.

I'll check out Slick EQ M. That PuigTec was doing pretty much nothing and to me sounded kind of muddy. I added it only recently but did not feel like it helped in any way really

Not sure if I’ve responded to the OP of this thread yet… but my most used hardware EQ’s by far are are: API 550a, Avedis E27, Kush Electra, AudioScape EQPA. And for master buss sweetening, the EQ on my Silver Bullets.
