Does anyone know if I can use gear credits to make a qualifying purchase? I Don t want to spend credits on something, then not actually get in.

I used Dan's trick— I bought credits in the custom shop (which has a baked in discount) then used those credits to buy Amplitube 5, which bought me into the group buy at $199 (even though I paid like $170 for the credits, or so).

You can get a bunch of gear credits on discount, and as long as you spend on a qualifying product in the Custom Shop, you'll automatically be in. The list of qualifying products is laid out on the Group Buy page. You can use your Jam Points to buy Gear Credits too, to get even more discount. Amplitube 5 is a good one to get. I think there's a few others that qualify for that $199 tier, I don't remember if it was SampleTron, or something else, just check that list to be sure. If you get the $199 tier you can get a bunch of the "big ones" the main applications. The $99 tier gets you a lot of the smaller stuff. I got in on both tiers, which was kind of excessive, but oh well. I have freebies to burn now, have almost everything IK sells other than the new ones (TASCAM tapes, and the Resonator sample pack)

It looks like I've already got the majority of the stuff. That sunset sound is one I want, so I gotta get in for at least that. I've got 125 gear credits in my account currently, so don't need to spend much cash. That B3 is like 3 bones though right? Is it worth spending a bunch more money for that thing?

BX3 is $199. It’s my favorite by far.

Is the juice worth the squeeze here? This seems like a killer deal, but do I really need 25 more plugins? I know next to nothing about IK Multimedia.

Go to "My Products" on the IK website, or in the installer software. That's everything you already own. The tricky part is if you have bundles, you'll have to look up what's included in the SE, normal, and MAX versions of the product, since they are different. I don't think you need to spend $300. If you own any product above... $199? not sure, then the prices should all be in the $199 and lower range. They are higher for people that don't own anything yet. Once you own one of the $300 full priced products, (which you may already,) all the other ones will be $199 in the group buy. Yes, it's confusing. And they make no efforts to help explain how it works.

Sunset is great, the B3 seems great but I haven’t tracked with it yet, same for Sampletron. Their Space Echo is a new favorite, and I’m using the Vari Mu a lot already. Not sure if I’m really going to get into the Distrexxor, we’ll see. I’m glad I have AT5, but I’m not sure how it’s going to get integrated into my workflow yet. The X-Time add on is a great delay though. So yeah, I think they make some good stuff, I'm still picking and choosing. They may not actually make 25 things I need, but the k es I’ve got already will be put to work.

I think it’s a no brainer, even if it’s not stuff you’ll use all the time.
If there something in Amplitude that just let you use the pedals without an amp? Sort of like MixBox or the Waves StompBox stuff. That would be very handy

I also like it when things are straight to the point, when possible. But at least it's a bit flexible.

It seems like a no brainer for them to make a plug-in that uses the pedals as a insert or a send for vocals and drums and other things you might not want to use an amp model with

Also if there's some trick to install everything on an external drive and not the system drive at the same time, that be great. Or if there's a guide to getting rid of those installers, please share. What a stupid system!

I’m not 100% sure, there’s the website download area, custom shop app, and product manager app. I think it’s product manager where I went to settings and directed my sounds folder to my external drive. I noticed the next couple things the zip files were downloaded direct to my external, and not in my user area on C drive. They seem to have extracted them there.

For some reason when I did that it still left the installer files on my computer drive. And those are huge

Totally forgot to post this - but I got ARC 3 and I really think it’s going to replace Sonarworks. Very similar results, but Arc seems to handle the bottom end without the “bloom” that SW has.
