If you can get into the $199 crossgrade tier ($299 full price tier) you can get the "big ones" like Amplitube, Sample Tank, etc, instead of just single processors or packs. I think that's the sweet spot, too. After picking up the Cinekinetik and Electromagnetik packs, I have pretty much everything I wanted. Now, I've gotta' start thinking about slots for my final round of freebies. Anybody have any opinions on these?: T-RackS De-esser SampleTank Brandenburg Piano SampleTank Alan Parsons Imperial Grand Amplitube Dimebag Darrell AmpliTube Joe Satriani I've used the T-Racks De-Esser on a couple masters I think, it's useful. My opinion about Amplitube stuff is I want all of it, so nothing is missing. All the pedals, amps, cabinets, etc.

I did the upgrade Amplitude 5 route for $112 using Jam Points and credits. Mainly thinking I'll take a spare computer and put it in the corner of the studio with a MIDI controller and have it hooked up quickly calling up virtual instruments. Here's what I got. Hoping more people buy in and I can get the other tape machines
Sampletron 2 (Crossgrade) Sampletank 2 (Crossgrade) Syntronik Deluxe (Upgrade) MixBox (Crossgrade) Sunset Sound Reverb Clavitube Alternate Keys MODO Drum Orchestral Percussion Hammond B-3X (Crossgrade) Miroslav Philharmonik 2 CE *I own Miroslav Philharmonik so surprised there wasn't an upgrade/crossgrade to the full version* AmpliTude Leslie *meant to buy the T-Racks version...whoops!* Malletopia Electric Grand C70P Stage 73 Mark V Comprexxor T-Racks Leslie *to make up for my mistake buying the Amplitude version* T-Racks 5 *mostly for the Dyna Mu* Tape Machine 80 Tape Machine 440

I'm sweeping it all up like a Hoover vacuum right now, in the midst of the "big install." We'll see how it goes but I really cleaned up!
Still have a few unused freebies not sure what to buy with. I may own everything? I'll have to get nitty gritty and see if there's anything missing from SampleTank add ons.

I suddenly feel slightly more justified in passing on the Orange stuff with my freebies.
...Only slightly.

Can anyone suggest which of the Tape machines to get? I would think the 80 for sure...just not sure I should waste 4 freebies for all 4.

Wow, Mixbox is not what I was expecting at all. Thought it would be some kind of precise channel strip thing, but it's got all the fun/color/vibe things in there. It's kind of lacking in terms of simple EQ, actually. I think I like this one for being different and creative.
I'm tired of looking at the computer so I haven't explored everything yet but I did a "crazy" improv song that I think sounds really good using all IK plugins.

damn...the space delay is killer too. I've got the UAD, Arturia and can't think of the other one's name - but this one beats them all. Really nice stuff that I never really jumped into.

Yeah I tried space delay and had to get it. I got the 80, excellent. I mean awesome for a tape plugin! If you understand how to mess with level going into and out of, adjusting the pre/de-emphasis, it’s pretty cool.. They do pretty great with the tape sims. I’ll get 24 and 440 for sure.
Also, you can test the plugins before deciding. I did that with Lurssen and Space echo, both of which I chose to get pretty damn immediately. (Or was it after watching Lurssen YouTube? 🤔)

Edit: Had to unauthorize and re-authorize with Pro Tools open.
--------------- Anyone having authorization issues?
Sunset and Vari Mu have the green authorization check mark in Custom Shop, but I am still getting white noise and a prompt to authorize on closing and reopening the session. Two bad too, as my first impressions are otherwise very favorable.

My Sampletank one was weird, just a ton of doing the same thing over and over again, a bunch of restarts, finally it seemed to catch up to where it needed to be. I have no idea why but I felt like I was kneading some dough or something, just working it.
Currently they are being weird about me selling one of my licenses, I am waiting on a support person to email me back.
But I do indeed like the software itself so it's worth it I guess. There is no perfect software company, they all have weirdnesses.

Indeed, as well as a full restart and an upgrade to the latest PT (I was still on 2020 something or other).

Here’s what has seemed to be working for me: On website, find your serial number, copy.
Open Product Manager app on your PC. see where it says installed, authorized w/green checks? Ignore that
There is a red button upper right that says “register” products or similar. Click that, paste your serial, accept etc.
Hopefully this works for you as well. Just did a few this way, straight to that button.

Sorry if everyone already figured this out, I’ve been so confused, lol. Finally installed the REAL Syntronic Deluxe last night. First, it needed to download 64gigs, figured I had room. After a couple hours I found it stopped and had an error: hard drive full. Turns out it downloads the zips for each synth one at a time, unpacks and installs them, but doesn’t delete the zips. Really I needed about 150-200 gigs free. A mess I had to move stuff to external drive, set the download folder on the website and appS to point there.. it has to be the whole folder SampleTank 3 on the external drive in order for the Syntronic app to load sounds for me.
After install we should clean out the download zip folders like Wiz said earlier.
Or.. may be able to select only the synths we want? On the website it’s under sounds.. all synths and Syntronic Deluxe

Been having a play with MODO Drum. It's kind of insane sounding and synthetic, but that's what's good about it. It's immediate like a drum machine, since the drums aren't sampled (Cymbals are.) Haven't used it in a song yet, but it's fun to play with the e-drum kit. A lot more bass on these than Superior Drummer samples. These are some low-tuned drums even when you try to pitch them up, they don't go very far. But that makes them responsive in speakers/headphones, like a real kit would "feel" in your chest or whatever.
The most hilarious one is the "Jazz" kit. It's got this massive bottom end and this huge, fake sounding wash of reverb all over it. Somebody must have been smoking something when they designed this as a Jazz sounding kit. The 'brochure' says it's for "delicate playing" LOL!!

What is up with this Lurssen mastering thing? Is it from the devil? So it’s basically presets with no tweakability besides the input and a few eq points? Then threshold on the upper comps? Regardless, I was kindve shocked at how good a job it did.

Regardless, I was kindve shocked at how good a job it did. If you click on the upper panel there's a couple of thresholds in there, the compressor and the de-esser maybe? I don't remember, but a few at the end of the chain. No control over the master limiter which is kind of lame, but it is what it is. It's kind of hit or miss because of the lack of options, but like you said, when it works it really works.

Just a heads-up that added more products to the freebies list. Now, I see more Amplitube amps / fx and some other stuff. Check it out if you still have freebie slots.

Man - Amplitube 5 is actually really good. I still don't like using VST amps because of the PITA of having to freeze stuff, but you could totally use this in productions without anyone being the wiser. As for the Tweeds - that 57 Deluxe (with the more knobs) is actually awesome. It doesn't do the destruction sagging overload like the Axe does, but all the Fenders are spot on.
