yeah Syntronic is a confusing app, but I’m starting to see serious potential value. And no I don’t have hardly any presets either,… I’m not sure what’s up with that.
It looks like the app isn’t so much recall a vintage synth and get to town, it’s more build a stack of synths, mix them into a new stereo sound, and save that and THAT as the preset. I think it will act as a single plugin in a DAW, but each synth has its own tweakable lunchbox effects, can adjust the volume and pan of each synth. So it will be able to make awesome lush pads etc.

Maybe I incorrectly assumed that I would get all of the Synths with Syntronik Deluxe...I see there are options to use some of your authorizations for each synth...I mean I can play all the synths - but I'm just not getting very many presets. If I have Deluxe, I shouldn't have to re-install each synth, right? I think for some reason it's only reading the "Free" version and that's the reason I'm only seeing a few presets per synth. I've tried to change the "path" but keep getting this: "the syntronik sound content path must match the sampletank 3 disk path"
Researching this, apparently I'm not the only one having this issue.

You should have way more presets. I started with the free version and it looked a lot like what you are showing: three or so measly presets for a given synth. Deluxe should have something like 20 or 30 per synth. And yeah, there are sounds that I'll never use either, but I found some good ones right away once I got the full memory moog (I think they were giving it away one month or something). And then that was so much better that I had to get Deluxe. I remember I had the same issue with install and authorization, it took a while to get everything to show up properly. I don't know what I did, just that I had to futz with it. Here's a screenshot of the beginning of the preset list and the end. Lots and lots of scrolling between the two: ibb.co/94TtDGxibb.co/7vCWFzt

I haven't installed my copy of Syntronik yet, but I remember hearing of folks having trouble if the path for the libraries didn't match the path for their SampleTank libraries. I'm gonna' have to explore this since I keep my samples on a second drive.
AFAIK, SampleTron 2 should be in your list of freebies if you bought AT5. It was for me.

well this is kind of a nightmare I decided to poke around my own license/install a bit more. First thing, IK only let's you download the installers for a fixed period of time and then you're cut off. That is bullshit. I think I bought Syntronik in July and I have 54 days left. That's just poor customer service, it's not like they won't still be hosting this content. Second, I too have a number of missing presets. I finally took the time to learn how to sort presets by synth (You have to x out of whatever synth you are browsing in order to move on to the next. You would think double clicking on a different synth would do it, but no). So now I can see that I am missing presets for several different synths including the V-80, which I'm super intrigued by. So, I reinstalled from a fresh download and, nothing, I am still missing presets for that synth. Meanwhile, I can authorize Deluxe until I am blue in the face and it does not seem to resolve this either. Anyway, I decided to go down this rabbit hole and, well the thought of dealing with more IK Media install/authorization issues if I buy in to the GB is, not a happy thought.

Same thing one dealing with. I might just delete everything and start over.

Mind you, I haven’t really futzed around a ton, but when I think of Juno and Prophet I think of those killer pads. I haven’t really found anything that sounds like that.

Anyway, I decided to go down this rabbit hole and, well the thought of dealing with more IK Media install/authorization issues if I buy in to the GB is, not a happy thought. Maybe not the most reassuring thing to tell you, but it sort of feels like it's historically been this way for some time.
That noted, once you get things up and running, there's far less issues/headaches.
I made the purchase tonight, but honestly don't plan on starting the mass refresh/install until I have a whole evening to do it.

That was my take seeing threads on the IK support board from 4 years ago. But shit - got a lot for practically nothing.

I was going to wait until I had a little time to download and install all of this stuff. Plus, I want to read up a little before I install everything, just to be safe.
In preparation, I uninstalled some old stuff and did a little clean up. What I realized is that the Product Manager keeps a copy of the installer disk images in your documents folder. I basically deleted all of the old and out of date images and freed up 15GB+ of disk space. Check it out if you're running low:
'Documents/IK Multimedia/IK Product Manager/'

couple of things to watch out for.
if you are having problems seeing the instruments, or they are showing up as locked, in sample tank... go to the Custom shop app for IK, and click on your profile and hit restrore my purchases, worked for me.
This is for Big Sur, as that's what I am running, in sample tank click on the gear ICON and make sure your paths are set to where you have the samples stored... I put mine on a seperate hard drive, and all under one directory
eg. my external SSD is called SOUNDS... so SOUNDS\IK Multimedia is the only PATH I need in sample tank.
Lastly , the IK installer keeps all the .dmg files you download and instal with. The consume quite a bit of space ... so , click on the little apple symbol top left of your screen and go into ABOUT THIS MAC. Select the STORAGE tab and then MANAGE then click on OPTIMISE STORAGE and LARGE FILES... this will list all the big stuff on your drive... you will be able to see the IK .dmg files there and can delete them to free up the space.
cheers

Guess the plug deal bloom is off the rose here, this all sounds like such a hassle but glad it’s working out for those who take the dive !

notneeson you can pay $10 to reactivate the downloads after they expire. Still not cool, but at least it's better than just being cut off completely. I've had to fight with all the sample folders/locations and so on too, but in the end I got them to work. It shouldn't be this hard but it is for everyone, it seems like.

All the Syntronik samples are stored under a SampleTank 3 folder, that was the current version when it was released and that's how SampleTank divides up it's sample storage. Newer libraries are stored in the SampleTank 4 samples folder but existing users didn't have to relocate/redownload anything when updating. New users get a ST3 folder for older libraries and ST4 folder for new libraries created. It looks like your presets issue is actually authorization related... ST4/Syntronik Free gives 3 or 4 presets of each original synth and none of the Deluxe ones, like your screen shot. I never use the 'authorize' button in the Product Manager app that handles all the downloads, it only seems to work when I use the 'IK Authorizer' app where you paste in the serial number.

Oh man, my system drive locked up right after I posted last night and disk utility couldn't unmount the disk to fix errors. Long story short I had to restore from Time Machine and I'm going to need to reinstall Syntronik and troubleshoot all over again.
Karma for complaining? C'est la vie.

If you can get into the $199 crossgrade tier ($299 full price tier) you can get the "big ones" like Amplitube, Sample Tank, etc, instead of just single processors or packs. I think that's the best tier to get into. Think I'm going to do this tomorrow, I've been putting it off since the deadline keeps getting extended.

I think that's the sweet spot, too. After picking up the Cinekinetik and Electromagnetik packs, I have pretty much everything I wanted. Now, I've gotta' start thinking about slots for my final round of freebies. Wow...Mixbox is pretty damn cool Finally got a chance to try it out. Now, I'm asking myself why I didn't get this a long time ago. Very useful and seems to incorporate some of the stuff I didn't have in the T-Racks line. Very cool!
