So what qualifies - like can I buy say the $149 AT5 and then use the free spots to upgrade some of the packages? Like Fender 1-2? Or buy BX3 for $299 and then get up to 17 (right now) other items equal of cheaper than BX3? Just wondering what qualifies as one of the 17? Yep, and I believe they calculate things based on their retail value. For instance, I bought AT5 for $139 after taking 30% off from jam points. Then, I was able to get Mixbox ($299), SampleTank 4 ($299), Sampletron 2 ($249), Hammond B3-X ($299), Modo Drum ($299), Modo Bass ($299), Syntronik Deluxe ($399) and a bunch of Amplitube and SampleTank packs. The Syntronik Deluxe is a bit of a mystery since the retail value is $399. Both Syntronik and Syntronik Deluxe Upgrade showed up in my list of available freebies. So, I just selected the Deluxe upgrade and got the extra synths. Not sure why it was available to me, but who cares? BTW, they just announced that if the GB gets to 20,000 by the end of September, they'll extend it through October. Essentially, getting us all the way to 25 freebies. If you were on the fence, it may be a good time to get in.

Yeah, I don't get this either. The FREE ones are supposed to be equal or lesser than the one you purchased so even if you get credit for the AT5 Retail Price of $199.99 I don't understand how you get $299 software for FREE... if that's the case, how low can you go?

Crossgrade pricing is available on a lot of the more expensive packages if you have something from IK that cost $99+. You can see the crossgrade prices when you log in. I bought Sampletron 2 for $112 (200 gear credits for $160, discounted $48 with Jam Points) at cross grade pricing from owning a bunch of stuff before. monkeyxx had the tip of getting the $200 tier stuff down to $112 real money. Some of the items which I qualified for at the $200 cross grade price: Amplitube 5, Modo Bass, Modo Drum, Sampletank. I was hesitant to get into the group buy, but I got sucked into it in the end.

Exactly. AT5 'retails' for $299 but I had v4 so it shows up as $199 when I'm logged in on their website. Then, I got a 30% discount using jam points = $139. All the other stuff I mentioned retails at the same $299 or less, so I was able to choose them as freebies. The exception for me was 'Syntronik Deluxe Upgrade.' I didn't previously have Syntronik so I'm not exactly sure why they offered it to me as a freebie, but they did. Hope it helps!

Played around with the hobbled version of AT5. And it’s really good. Even if you buy now, you can still get the 25 when it happens right?

That's right. If you bought it today, you'd get whatever you bought plus 17 freebies (same or lesser value) right now.
Then, if it hits 20,000 registrants by the end of the month, it'll get extended another month and that pretty much guarantees it'll go all the way to 25.

If you were on the fence, it may be a good time to get in. I want the Hammond the most, I grabbed 200 credits and can get it. Or should I get amplitude5 which is same price and then choose free stuff like you? I just don’t want to accidentally get shutout from the B3-x. I can’t find it in the custom shop at all.

If you can get the AT5 collection in Custom Shop with the credits you have, that may be the best way to do it. Then, you should be able to pick up the Hammond and any other freebies you want from the 'promotions' page in your IK user area.
Choose wisely, though. I was going to get Syntronik and add the additional synths as some of my freebies. However, the upgrade to Syntronik Deluxe showed up in my available titles so I just chose it and saved the free slots for other things. Let us know if you have any questions. Good luck!

Ok thanks, I went ahead and got Amplitude 5.. I couldn’t find the Hammond to buy with credits. Luckily AT5 worked, in promotions the Hammond was there as a cross grade.. not sure what that means, but there are other things I want as well. Nice deal

That's great! Take your time in choosing your freebies and you'll make out like a bandit. I loaded up on instruments and the few T-Racks / Amplitube titles I was missing. Are you looking for effects or instruments or both? Lots of good stuff to be had - some better than others.

Sunset Sound Space Delay Lurssen Mastering Console some of the T Racks: Dyna Mu, Black 76, the Sontec thing, Precision Compressor is good, Pultec is good people are talking about the Distressor but I haven't heard it yet

IK Tape Machines are tops for me, they eat CPU so I bounce (to tape?) through them.
I bought into the group buy with the Comprexxor, it's excellent.
Already had Sunset Sound, which is in my top 5 reverbs, but number one for short ambience on instruments recorded too close or direct.
In T-Racks, Stealth Limiter is excellent, the Sontec 432 EQ is great, I generally use the mastering oriented stuff the most, bus processing like the Neve and SSL stereo comps a bit less, and their API/Neve/SSL channel strip and mono compressor models the least. As much a workflow thing as anything.
I picked up the rest of the AmpliTube packs I didn't have as freebies, I already use the Fender Collection 2 and MESA/Boogie as my top reamp choices for those tones.
Used the rest of the freebies for ST4 expansions, not a KB player but I pretty much own everything else they make and had just added a new 1TB SSD external so was feeling storage flush... I dig the Hammond, Electromagnetik and drum expansions, Modo Drum is cool as well.

I tested EQ81 was ugly overdrive right away, but then I lowered the input gain to zero, switched to line in, and played with output gain, MUCH much cleaner and better. I will get EQ81 for sure.. I like the way IK does MS, so I figure I’ll be get some EQ’s and compressors. Black76 is lot of fun and controls well, but too dirty and rolled off on top, more for effects than master bus.

But, I feel like the experience level in aggregate on this board is high and I have gotten some great plugin recommendations here by focusing on where the most agreement lies. Side bar: this group buy is starting to threaten my "less is more" philosophy. Although, I definitely do need more keyboard VIs outside the analog synth realm.

I did the T-racks group buy a few christmases ago. I think it was 5 for the price of one. I have the Sontec, but haven't used it in a while. I really only use the Pultec, which I think really imparts a tone and color, and the De-esser is really useful. I don't even remember the other two.
Though, as mentioned the whole install thing is goofy and there are a ton of their things listed when I open an insert that I don't have, but have tried to not be on my plugin list.
I'm also woefully behind the times with PT and OS upgrades...

I really don’t even want to spend the $199 it’s gonna cost…(but then there’s buying the credits and I have $55 in jam points.) I guess my question - if someone can answer - is “do I need to spend $299 or $199 equivalent?” Am I going to miss out on anything if I only buy the $199? This is a LOT of value though.

Does anyone understand why Elektromagnetic shows up on the group buy landing page only to say it's not eligible as a free item? That's one I think I'd use, assuming the sounds are good. Sidebar, are the sounds good? I own Reason 9 and I can only stomach a small fraction of the included sounds. But a minority of them totally work for me. Not so much the Wurli or the Rhodes.

You can buy into the group buy with either of the collections, Electromagnetik or Cinekinetik, but when you go to select freebies the 4 individual packs that comprise each collection are all that’s available, not the collection itself. I picked up all 8 individually as freebies, I dig the Yamaha EP and the portable Wulrly, little different than the Rhodes and 200A everybody else samples. I didn’t have a Piano Bass, but I don’t play a lot of Doors either. I dig the Clavitube expansion as well.

If you already have some IK products, log in and take a look at the GB list and see if the prices change for you. For me, products that 'retail' for $299 show up as $199 when I'm logged in. It must take into consideration what I already own. The way to get the best price is probably what someone had posted earlier in the thread: buy gear credits and use jam points to take 30% off of that. For instance, you could buy 200 credits for $112 after applying jam points. Then, you could use the credits in the Custom Shop to buy AT5 and get all the freebies that are in that price tier. Or, if you REALLY want to clean up, you could buy the 300 credit pack for $158 after the jam point discount. Then, you could buy AT5 for 200 credits and another title in the custom shop for 100 credits (like Amplitube SVX 2) and then you're entered into the GB -twice- at different pricing tiers. You could potentially end up with 50 titles for $158.
