It’s this catch all perjorative that is cowardly and ignorant. After he broke the rules here multiple times, I still allowed him to stay - but I’m a racist. Ok. There is a no politics rule on this forum to avoid this kind of bullshit…but I’m going to be less hesitant to ban people that bring that kind of negativity. |

They tend to rationalize opposing opinions as personal attacks. Someone coined the term "oppression olympics" where folks like that wander around looking for things that make them angry so they can complain to like-minded folk and feel exhalted and virtuous when they receive adoration from their peers for playing the victim. |

I can’t even fathom how an audioscape thread out of all things went that direction 🤯 Anyway...a huge THANK YOU for building this place! I’m sure it may be a huge pain at times but man, I sure do appreciate RGO and everyone here.

I can disagree with someone, and we still can be friends. In modern day when it comes to different opinions the new kids think everything is black or white - my way or highway.
I think it’s more about that they want to call the shots. If they see that this is not going to work they go to the next step - name calling. I would always ban people which are not open-minded and which can’t follow the rules. |

I've seen that guy posting on GS. I have this sort of radar for ugliness and he was triggering it big time. I didn't see the exact post you're talking about but maybe it's one of the ones I saw. So yeah, I agree with your decision and tend to block and ignore people like that myself.

I'm wondering something: Might it not be a good idea to lock this thread and prevent us from inadvertently going down a similar path? Maybe take the high road and just say, "That's all; just wanted everyone to be informed of the situation."

I echo what Chad and seawell have said. Thankful for this site. It's a privilege to be a part of it. Appreciate that you not only offer THE BEST gear forum, John, but also that you run a tight ship. Also appreciate not only the knowledge and expertise shared here, but that RGO members convey it in a professional and non-judgmental way (with appropriate humor sprinkled in at times). I would respectfully suggest that we members simply leave any GS references out of future posts. The overwhelming wealth of knowledge is on RGO anyway.
