I’m selling my pair of ADK Frankfurt 49T microphones over on Reverb (listed individually under two separate listings) for a fair price. Used them for drum overheads and vocal, really like them. Just crowded out now by other mics on hand.

I would like to hear a comparison of the Soundelux U195 vs the ADK Cremona T-251. Anyone have any thoughts or have done a comparison? I haven’t used the Cremona, but have a GZ251 and a Berlin T-47, also owned a U195 for a couple of years. All excellent mics, but voiced different. The U195 tends more towards a modern U87-type thing in normal mode, then a hyped low end in “fat” mode. If you look at ADK’s SoundCloud, they’ve got examples there. The closest U195 equivalent would probably be the Hamburg. My U195 takes Processing well. You can reduce the strong Low End in FAT. In fact, I like it better with the Low Cut switch/FAT setting combo. Chris |

Ultimately I didn’t find the voicing right for many singers I was recording at the time, but it’s a great mic. On topic, the ADK T-Fet mics I’ve heard are of similar quality - never a struggle to mix. |

FWIW my impulse is to run my U195 on FLAT... Through a quality Tube Pre or Plug. (Although FAT is usually better on me) I guess very similar taste to Vincent, with an 87 AI. What's funny is that the "Vintage Button", on my Focusrite actually does a decent job of this. I don't think quite up to FAT mode, or a "True Goo" U47/67, but OK.  Chris |

Well, I caved and grabbed the ADK 49T-FET. It arrived yesterday. Mic sounds really good. It’s very similar to my TLM49 in sonic quality. I think the Neumann is a touch sweeter sounding. Still, it is a nice sounding mic. I'm looking forward to really putting it through it's paces.

If selling the TLM49 would yield the cost of an M49V it would have happened long ago. |

I did a quick stacking test last night. Did a quick 3 part harmony with doubles mock up of “What Child is This” with the Frankfurt 49T and the TLM49. I want to try and do a pass with my U87ai and Cremona 251T. Maybe later tonight. In the mean time check them out. No EQ. Just some DVerb and Buss compression from my AS Buss Comp. Different takes. Might be the best fit for my voice out of any of my mics. It's a fantastic microphone, at any price point. I had thoughts of replacing the capsule with a BeesNeez but keep going back and forth on just leaving it as it is. Knowing what the Cremona already is, and not knowing what it might be with the BN capsule mod admittedly pricks my curiosity...
