It's wonderous. It's the big mama my little baby DIY mic would grow up to be. Glad to see people doing it the right way, for the current generation.

I dislike shockmounts in general. I think it's like 80% aesthetic though. All the pics of my heroes tracking through 67s, 47s, etc with hardmounts are just too burned into my brain and I (apparently) care about those vibes too much. I also just don't like a big boxy cage taking up so much room and looking dumb. I've never had any issue with vibrations but I mostly just record myself. If I had all kinds of knuckleheads coming in stomping around and it was my job to get good takes I'd probably abandon my aesthetic tendencies in about 10 seconds. Yeah I coveted that 67 conversion you did with that mount... I didn’t do that. Must be some other badass dude you’re thinking of.

Hey all, So we will be taking pre orders in a few weeks for delivery early 2021. And yes the first pre orders will be discounted from the final price. We will be sharing some sound clips along with more pics etc once we have the mic wrapped up from the sonics perspective. The Heiserman team is working very very hard along side the best sounding original 251's to get this better than perfect. Give us a few more weeks or so and we will announce pre orders! Here are a few pics of the internals. It's going to be available in clear? Interesting....

Yeah but those were probably all done in real studios without springy floors 😁

That’s why I love them, it’s all knuckleheads all the time here. Even when vibration isn’t obvious, things sound better with shock mounts removing subsonic junk, less EQ fixes needed.

One thing I will say in regards to Heiserman and their pricing :
They are not the cheapest microphones out there - BUT - their attention to original details, and building stuff like mics were built in the 50/60's is appreciated. I'll give a few examples - aside from sound which is great - that I noticed on my H47T.....
- Binder connectors instead of generic XLR's - $$$$ - custom power supply instead of generic Chinese PS. - true to original shock mount - not a generic off the shelf Chinese shock mount - quality cable instead of generic Chinese cable - pelican case instead of generic Chinese "briefcase" style throw away case - custom laser cut foam insert instead of generic Chinese pick a part style foam that inevitably deteriorates - easily removable head basket instead of generic 1 piece POS Chinese body / head basket
Those things add up, and to me, if I'm buying a "keep this forever" mic, I'd rather pay a bit more for the quality and care. That said, I hope it's cheaper than the Upton, or it just may be out of reach after 2020......

PS - my only gripe with the H47T is that there isn't a cutout in the foam insert for a second head basket. I know, a dumb complaint, but if they ever made a new insert that would fit having a spare head basket, I'd be all over it!! I think there might be room with a re-design...... Cause from what I've seen, a lot of guys are getting 2 head baskets (HK47+HM7)
Right now, I just wedge it into the shock mount and all is good. But I gotta pull it out and toss it into the case when I'm using the mic....

The shock mount thing undoes a lot of the good work some manuf's are doing IMO. Really shits me that I can't reliably hang the mic upside down for example.
Cheers, Ross

Well Vincent then you should have a few new versions to try this year Funny enough the 251 has been kind of elusive. I haven’t been able to get a good one in here to demo from a dealer or a manufacture, and I can’t drop that kind of money without knowing it’s what I’m looking for. Hopefully I’ll get a good one in here. My only experience was a track my wife made with a Korby Kat 251 a number of years ago. It sounded amazing.

Let’s hear this beautiful mic I’m excited for your company, Congrats on a new product release! In between the Upton and Tele. And I would say the Upton sells for less than that price...especially with the right connections. But this - undoubtedly - is the next step from the Upton. For the guy that wants ALL the details. Tele is for those that like to overpay.

If you would all please PM me I would be glad to step back into the game as the official Gearpimp of those who over pay😁 Ps T$KGUY has informed me they will produce a special version for those who wish to over pay, it will include a special BIC lighter for lighting $100 bills.* I am required to inform you that we do not have an official commercial relationship until one of you wishes to over pay!

No doubt this will disrupt some things. The 47 is extremely well done, but the execution of this is pretty striking.

SO i think I am OCD with time. when someone says it will be out soon 3-4 weeks I tend to take it literally. Like back in start Nov when the next batch of H47T were going to be available. Whats a realistic time frame for this 251 pre-order? As I dont think I can wait.
