My memory fails me a bit here, but it may well have been available prior to SD2. I used to chat online with Chris Whitten quite a lot when we were in closer time zones. I was really impressed with the thought process he put into making that pack. I believe Peter Henderson engineered it, and I think he did so on a Helios board. I still think that SDX can do a pretty good job of getting that Beck Sea Change sound: Super dry, small room. And the kicks layer quite well with other packs IMO. According to their walkthrough video from when it came out, it was an EMI TG console. And I agree re: tight/dry. I like the damped kit a lot. I also like to use C&V drums as layers for other kits. Ah, thanks for the correction! Man, what a sweet board. I like that better than Helios, actually. You know, as if I've ever used either one...
