"I generally like trippy colors as long as they're black".
Good one.

It’s not really the lack of numbers that bothered me. Not my issue either. I'd just want function indicators. What band, Freq, Boost/cut under the knob and I'd be fine. I never look at the numbers on my console EQ. General function is fine with me.

If you know "what 1K" is, numerical labeling can help to an extent with "where that is" since every EQ has different frequency ranges.
You may not need to reference them every time but I like to know, with a quick glance, "where things are."
My DB Dawg CEQ (Calrec clones) came without numbers so I added some basic high, low ranges just for my own reference instead of "L, LM, HM, H" For example, the Calrec is gonna have a different range than an API 550b
Sometimes I want to know where 3K is, etc.

Yeah I don't see this as a "mix with your ears vs eyes" problem...Its a "what knob does what problem". Obviously some people don't find the labeling confusing, I'm not one of those people.

I love the look of this thing! It sounds pretty damn good too in the demos. I agree though, some slightly more specific labeling would be cool.

Black units are shipping beginning of August.
New, detailed 3 song mastering equalizer demo video launched on the website and YouTube.
7 units are getting 20% of profits given away to BLM related social justice causes.
Black faceplates getting engraved and painted now. Pics soon.
The new videos are finally the ones I really always wanted to do.
The hi-res audio video can be downloaded on the website.
The camera was a little strange but the audio was in and out through a Lavry Blue...
White paper engineer's sheet also updated for the two new additional features added (input buffer on a switch and also a filter 'shift' control, which is basically another capacitor build variant of the whole low end on one switch, like having two EQ builds in one...). The video audio shows it all on great speakers.
Yeehaw
Back to the benches
Glad to have black faceplates for an option now!

Chief Tech at shadowhills ..... He knows his shit He should know as much as anyone what a slick faceplate and bakelite knobs do for sales. I gotta imagine if the SHMC was in a 2u rack that looked like this, they wouldn't sell many at $7500.

In the age of low pay and everybody thinking it’s all plugins, quick easy recall is everything.

Possibly. Was it at Webster? Did you go to Webster? In St Louis? I've been a panelist at their AES Student summit for about the last 12 or so years. Its only a couple hours sound of me. They have a great program there.
