Like John and Wiz I just never got Logic's drummer. I stuck with Superior Drummer. It seems like a miracle to even get close to a beat you want with Logic's drummer. We do similar music...I wonder if that’s it

Playing bass is one of the most fundamental voices to writing music and communicating groove and personality. No one will care about music written by algorithms. I like pop but I can't remember anyones' top lines except Katy Perry and Dan + Shay. Meanwhile I can remember most of Chris Stapleton's songs, Sting's, even Level 42. If you need to buy software to play music you aren't in a band and chances are you aren't making music anyone will ever buy tickets to see. Spend the same amount hiring a bass player, or taking lessons. This whole progression is worse than 50 year olds buying Gibsons they will never play.......(that's me:) LOL Have you guys checked out this young phenom? Madison Cunningham, tuned down to C. LOVE HER My buddy Abe Rounds on drums. Check him out with Rai Thistlethwaite if you want your mind blown. I love what she's doing with that guitar. Vocals are a little "mumbly" but I'm being critical, it's good music. That acoustic guy is getting a great sounds too, almost sounds like a single coil electric.

I guess it is a new release and a "marquee" product. I'm sure it will inevitably be on sale, the way plugins are now. You can also buy a bass for $180 just want to say. Honestly, that’s cheaper than I thought it would be.

The video of his hands follows the sound perfectly. I wonder if he's plugged into something digital. The Line 6 Variax does stuff like that but he's clearly playing an acoustic guitar that doesn't look like a Line 6. I can't figure it out. Nobody is wearing in ears, either. Overdub after the performance? Love those mics all over the drums too, looks like a bunch of Schoeps but I don't know Schoeps that well.

And this is live under pressure; that aint easy as any little inability and /or fear will be magnified. So much to admire with this young woman - for me it's the easy rhythm in her whole performance which speaks to who she is ; she has a big career ahead if she wants it. really excellent.
As to EZ bass, some well played live percussion can often ameliorate the grid issue. I'm a bass player and for me unless you're a good player with a good sounding set up then issues may conspire to make the live performance a bit of a headache. If your gig is writing songs a la John then a clean bottom end that allows the song to shine could be the ticket. My only criticism is that at the mo it doesn't have acoustic upright.
Cheers, Ross

I’m definitely going to demo. It very well could be one of those things where it takes longer to program than to play.

Just saw a post from Scott Sibley (works at Toontrack). He said there will be a demo version, but it wasn’t ready at launch. No ETA on when it might arrive.

I need to watch a few videos of this ito see how it all works. But man, if the audioi-to-MIDI feature is as good as it sounds like it might be, then that alone as part of the workflow would be killer! Play a part in—even on a guitar—and then convert that within EZBass to play the part with a bass, then tighten it up. Whew. Is that really what you can do? If so, that feature alone sounds awesome. I know you can do that kind of thing in Logic as well, but something about having that whole process together in one plugin dedicated to bass sounds really nice to me. Seems like it could work quickly, which would be really nice.

Yeah, cubase does that too. In practice I never really use it. But when I record keyboard parts, since I am not an expert pianist, I use MIDI to correct my keyboard performances. If you loop MIDI I / O to hardware keyboard instrument you can even "correct" your live performance, just loop the MIDI track back out to the instrument and re-record the audio. Useful for quantizing also, if something needs to be tight to a grid. Although Cubase can quantize an Audio track as well. That's a feature I'd like to get more into. I hear a lot of records I like with quantized audio, sounds so tight and loopy, yet "live."

I just tested so far with an electric guitar and it can work great, but it can mess with somethings, specially hammer ons and slides. Nonetheless, the editor is great (and miles better than pro tools) to fix those stuff, but it can take a good time to fix one whole track, if the part is a bit complex.

Bought it...was too impatient for the demo. Wish I had waited for the demo. It’s probably the best sounding (maybe Trillian?) fake bass I’ve heard...but it still sounds like a fake bass to me. I bet you could program it to sounds more realistic, but hell, I could just play it faster. This is just my first thoughts so maybe after some time with it I’ll “get” it more.

I just got MODO Bass in the IK pack I bought. Haven't really used it a lot, but there's a TON of tweaky options for getting your tone. Pickup position and things like that.

How do the EZ bass sound samples compare to Trillion or Modo for those who have both or all three ?
