So I have a first-gen Apollo, silverface duo. Firewire. If I put the thunderbolt add-on in it, can I run Luna?
Believe it or not, I’d be in it for the VIs. I don’t hate my Console+Protools tracking flow right now, but I wouldn’t mind them being integrated. I just have never been into Reason or Ableton, and get envious of the VI flow in Logic.
Thanks, stay safe y’all.

So...about to open up...but in those video examples of the Neve Summing, the difference is extremely subtle.

Can't get ilok manager to open...says it's not connected to the internet. My guess is it's overloaded.

👎🏻...lol. I heard a bigger difference in the video, what’s up with that? Wait - not sure I understand...you heard a difference or not? I got so excited when I got the email that I misread your post and totally misinterpreted your post as I was driving! Choked on my drink and now that I’m home I need a beer to relax! Ok. I didn’t know they released all these new videos and price on Luna. I thought you were talking about previous videos, not the recent one on their site. I watched a different video of the Neve Summing a while back and it was more dramatic of a difference than what I’m hearing in the video on UA’s site. It’s crazy how digital still sounds smeared and muddy and just not natural when trying to emulate it in the digital realm. My .02 right now hasty opinion just listening to that video on the Neve summing, not worth the $299 for the Luna Neve Summing. Not sure I’ll cough up the $299 for it, to see if it’s better than the video. I hope it is!

I’m in and using. It works, it’s passing signal without any issues so far with no glitching! It looks very neat, I like neat and organized. Well, have fun guys, going back into my unfortunate quarantined state. Enjoy!

downloaded but didn't show in finder - checked and realized my MBP (late 2011) can't go past OS High Sierra and need Mojave minimum so guess I'll need to update the computer before trying. Oh well, guess I'll let everyone else sort out all the early issues for me

OK - have a test session I've been playing around in. Has one audio track and one instrument track and it takes about 40 seconds to load.

Looking forward to hearing how the Neve summing sounds. I'm in no rush to learn a new recording process, but will of course take a look soon.

Wow. Neve Summing. Color me impressed. I’m impressed with everything, honestly. There are some quirks here and there which is to be expected...but the fact that I can play Superior Drummer (or anything for that matter) with virtually no latency is a game changer. Total workflow game changer. No more futzing with buffers...turning this, this and this off to be able to fix this VI part. Then, ok, it’s fixed, need to re-freeze it to have enough juice. The instruments in Shape are cool. I really dug the strings. Not as deep as Logic in that area, but most guys use third party for stuff anyway. It uses lots of pro tools keyboard shortcuts which is awesome. I was a little thrown that there was no master channel...but I guess you just name a bus master and route whatever you need there. Haven’t burned anything down yet. Played around with SD3, routed it to a bus and played with the Neve summing. In short, it’s awesome. Euphonic and you can drive to taste. It’s the night of the honeymoon, so I don’t want to blow smoke...but that’s the best I’ve heard SD3 sound. Haven’t downloaded Ravel. Not really sure I need it to be honest...but wow, if the light version in Shape is any indication, it’s going to sound pretty extraordinary. Not really interested in the moog...but there’s a “Creators Bundle” for $549 that includes Neve Summing, Studer (I already have), moog and Ravel. You’d spend more than that on two of them buying single. I’m very very impressed.
